Back from a 12 mile run, exhausted, but kinda... high right now. Don't worry. It won't last.
I'm grateful to be able to get back up to the 30-35 miles/week running mark, like grad school days. The only thing keeping me balanced and less homicidal these days...

But I'll be a cheap brunch date after this TRVE SHOW NO MERCY.

Can poured into a teku , one finger creamy egg shell white foam cap , good retention, settles to a thin layer , some lacings over a hazy orange liquid

Aroma is floral, peach , bubble gum , passion fruit

Taste is tropical fruits, pineapple, passion fruit

Mouthfeel is lively sudsing , creamy , no hop bite

I hardly ever drink sours but this one is kind of refreshing
Nice can art and a chicken I smoked and glazed this morning with a molasses, honey and brandy glaze.

The forecast here is for rain through Wednesday, so I am cutting the grass and shrubs this afternoon. The heat this time of year sucks all your strength, so my process is pretty fitful with lots of beer breaks. I am drinking a crowler of Angry Fish Brewing Wyse's Ferry Kölsch.

Looks good with nice head and lacing, nice liberally aroma, good flavor. Refreshing summer beer.

 

Just “had to” make a pit stop from my buddy’s lake house in Michigan back home. Transient Life for a Puppy Shouldn’t Be So Ruff. According to them, it’s a Grey skies and Blis breakfast rye whiskey barrel aged imperial stout with cocoa nibs and salted caramel. Sweet as expected but complex. Hits the adjuncts as usual with Transient with great barrel character.

 

Imperial Oak 6 year anniversary (where did the time go?)
Quiet Giant 2 years in Woodford Reserve bourbon.

It comes in a plastic, so I'll show you the neighborhood instead (it's not really this dark)

 

One more for good measure. Transient Win Bigly: All the Nuts. Imperial stout with black walnuts, peanut butter, and hazelnuts. Great, slightly bitter, nutty character to go with a creamy, roasty base. Cheers!

My second pour is my favorite of the day, not sure if I will try one more new one or end on a high note.



Looks great though was disappointed by the faint aroma. The fresh bold taste made up for the light aroma. This is a solid WCIPA, and in Chicago I am very glad to have another option.

Today is a sad day as jazz great and Chicagoan Born and Raised Freddy Cole past away. I have seen him multiple times, a great pianist and vocalist. He played Chances are if you don't know or remember Freddy you do remember his more famous older brother, Nat King Cole. He was 88 years old, but you wouldn't know it as he continued to tour and work, with Rona closures of jazz bars and halls the only time he ever slowed down.
