Well, it’s almost 8 o’clock central time and we don’t have a thread yet, so allow me to correct that. Today is my namesake’s 11th birthday, and I am toasting him with this youngster while wondering where the hell the time goes. Will get into a bigger beer or two to commemorate the day later after work.

Good morning BA & thanks for starting the thread @mschrei. Enjoy this time as my experience is the years only go faster. My baby got her drivers license last week and my oldest moves out for college in less than a month. Anyway, beer...

Monkish Brewing Company Oculars. An intense yet smooth Triple IPA. Will be even better in a few weeks since this was just canned last week. Still a bit grainy but doesn’t overshadow this amazing IPA. Cheers.

Hoping to hit a brewery (likely the one featured below) later today (weather permitting) prior to yet another round of selected closures scheduled for Friday.

One pregame to start things off on this beautiful Tuesday morning, Spiteful Brewing's Alley Time.

I propose a baseball player which the Beer Advocate community can all cheer for this year, regardless of your individual team(s) preference. The closest MLB has come to a player named beer was a "Moonlight Graham" like one game appearance of Claernce Beers for the 1948 Saint Louis Browns.

Seth Beer might be promoted to the Arizona Diamondbacks roster this season. His appearance would mark the first time a beer reached the major leagues, not counting the various players named Miller and the pours Babe Ruth drank in the clubhouse and bars surrounding ballparks like McCuddy's across from Comiskey Park. Seth was born in Maryville, Illinois, and has a good chance at contributing on the major league level with his bat soon. Cheers to Seth Beer, and all the other Beers who have never made it to the show.

    Til Tuesday

Aimee still has it forty years later

Good afternoon advocates, a big post in some way but I’m vacationing so there’s this excuse... a fair one.

I visited early this morning the landing beaches and particularly Omaha beach, then we drove to the American cemetery of Colleville which is by the way owned and being taken care of by the US (mowing the lawn, the trees and plants etc) it’s incredible thinking how well this is neat and spotless. Good job on keeping the place clean to the workers and yes much respect to those who were KIA in these lands.

Grimbergen Blonde and an odd picture but the place we are renting is quite tiny...

Then the photos from Omaha beach and the cemetery...

Evil Twin Grand Cru Cuvee, 12.5% ABV stout and barley wine blend aged in Marsala and maple bourbon barrels.
There's a lot going on here. Didn't really like it at first but I think I've dialled into it halfway through the can. It's toasty from the stout and sweet from the barley wine. The barrel character is definitely there as well but not a lot of maple. Which is probably fine, I think it would be a bit too much. Once you wrap your head around it it's a really good beer. It just takes some getting used to.

My wife and daughter are headed back from Baltimore today. Last time they were there they brought me an Orioles glass from the ballpark. It is the most expensive glass I own and I had never used it.

I asked them to bring me a 6 pack of National Bohemian home this time. We'll see.

This Guinness blonde is not good at all. They can't all be good I suppose. Cheers all!

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz long stem tulip glass canned on 7/8/20. Pours a very hazy yellow with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves plenty of waves of lace with amazing retention. 5

Smell is peach, pineapple, papaya, ripe melon, and apricot really impressive. 4.75

Taste follows papaya, peach, mango, pineapple, honeydew, and apricot very tropical and low on bitterness. 4.75

Mouthfeel is a big medium, soft gentle carbonation, sticky not dry, and at 8.5% goes down extremely easy. 4.75

Overall this is a killer beer, so balanced, gorgeous, and tasty. Well done Spyglass. 4.75
