I've never had this precise problem before. I also didn't think it needed that cook time, but took them off 3 min early. When I put them in the bowl, they looked awesome. They self-caramelized over the next 10-12 min or so - never seen that happen.

I feel if the onions had been the last step, and put right onto the burgers, it would have been fine. Still, the meal was well-loved by everyone tonight, so I'll call it an overall win.

My father, warrior that he is, is currently undergoing chemo. This man adopted me. He got up at 4:30am every day to provide. We were never close when I was a kid, but we're much closer now. Don't think that a healthy lifestyle will leave you exempt. He has worked out -- ran; lifted weights; rode bike; ate clean -- every day since I've known him. Shit happens. I'm thankful for the relationship we have now. Dad, there's only one beer on this planet that is worthy of your name. Cheers!

The math on that in Milwaukee, WI, would be that you should have eaten 3 bratwursts and a pound of fresh cheese curds. You would have been fine the next day.

A healthy lifestyle really doesn't guarantee anything. My Dad's mom lived to be 93 or 94 and spent the last 40 years of her life on bacon, Marlboro reds and Pepsi. Genes determine everything.

Another @Xerlic special. Man. Either I’ve really missed slaying IPAs or I’m just drinking really good ones. This is great too. Soft. Mango peel. So good.

The beers are going down quickly, so those may be the only good choices I make the rest of the evening.
