    Good morning BAs!

Continuing the Tree House extravaganza that started a couple of days ago.

They are all very good but the plain Julius is the best for me. So nice and soft. Lovely.

    Have a great day

    Yesterday:
    • @BlameHouston - I hope the Beachwood Coolship beer is included in our annual Fall drop here. To tell the truth, I pick up everything they drop here.
    • @rgordon - I wasn't old enough to appreciate 1971 tunes (was two) until later, but it is one of my favorite music years.
    • @micada - John Prine was also a WBAYDN treasure I "discovered" here. Same with Nanci Griffith. Many great music posts here daily, @champ103 the leader of the pack in that regard.
And Today: Opa! @rex_4539 Not sure if my hazy IPA this morning can measure up, but I'm enjoying it.

About to attempt to do my 2020 state and federal taxes this morning. Good Times. These two 1971 tunes fit my mood as I embark.

Give a listen to The Soft Parade by the Doors, released in 1969. It was an outlier and so far ahead of the times. It is a great album.

Just a 1664, don’t me mistaken; it’s not as bad as Kronenbourg. It’s actually a pretty good beer.

@micada re: your question from WBAYDN? yesterday #209: strategic reconnaissance.

Another military story of mine: West Berlin was my follow-on duty station (worked at Tempelhof Flughaven) and one of my jobs was comm support for the intel scope dopes. When not busy, I'd visit them at there scopes when SR-71s flew along the east / west border of Germany. The planes flew out of RAF Mildenhall in England. I found it interesting to watch the plane's flight paths on real missions in real-time on the radar scopes.

Amazing! While it's not unusual for us to get some snowfall in October, it's generally nothing like that - although apparently we got 4 inches from last year's first snowfall.

    What’s up BA.

    Picked up a couple Athena’s…

    One is a beer…
    [IMG]

The other has fur and is only 15 weeks old…:stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome Athena to the family! Wife wanted a puppy, so I caved.

Petal is like “what the fuck is that thing near me…” She’s been super patient though, unless Athena gets up in her grill.

At Good Beer in NYC, currently enjoying Maine - Fall. Previously enjoyed North Fork's pilsner Hold Me Closer Tiny Lager. Before that, took a Drowned Lands Trueterra DIPA to the excellent taco joint down the street.

Blossom Industries Ltd. -- TAG Premium Lager Beer (adjunct lager)

    3.59/5 rDev 0%
    look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

Very light, pale yellow body; lots of lively carbonation bubbles; thin, white head, lasting and fairly dense. Pleasant enough smell; very grainy. Mildly grainy taste with a mild hop bitterness; clean. Light body; crisp mouthfeel.

This is a decent beer from India. It's nothing special overall. It's basically an adjunct lager (it's brewed with barley and rice) and has a nice, low ABV going for it.

Poured at 43 °F; bottle label dating and batch info: MFD. 04/21 Batch No.: TGB01

    Hopewell Belly Up

    Bar Notes:
4.7% ABV English Strong Bitter, 16 oz cask pour into a nonic glass.

Appearance: Clear caramel colored base, brief white head leaves soapy lacing. 4.0

    Aroma:
Caramel malt primary, fresh baked bread crust. Light in strength. 3.75

    Taste:
Taste consistent with aroma, white bread crust, caramel malt, rye backing. Really nice. 4.0

    Mouthfeel:
Medium body, sweet but not too, light and easy, clean finish. 4.25

    Overall:
Solid ESB, works well on cask, flavorful. Like Hopewell’s commitment to rarer styles, they do well in this space. I will seek this packaged or on cask in the future. 4.0

Fremont Brewing Co. -- 12th Anniversary Stout with Cherries (blend of barrel-aged imperial stouts)

    4.29/5 rDev -1.4%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Coal-black body; opaque; one-finger thick head, tan, dense and creamy; rings and fingers of foam reach up from the beer. Fine smell of dark roasted grain, a bit of wooden barrel, and a touch of sweet cherry. Rich, wonderful flavor; cocoa with a bit of vanilla; cherries; grain char blended with a subtle hop bitterness; a suggestion of coffee; sweet but with a light undercurrent of booziness. Heavy body; thick and slick on the palate; sludgy dryness offsets the residual sugar sweetness.

This is an anniversary beer done right. This one is artfully blended and showcases the Heaven HIll and bourbon vanilla barrels used in its production. The taste shines through and righteously illustrates the care taken in creating this beer. Very, very delicious.

A fantastic beer. Excellent rich head for a high ABV beer.

    Poured at 51 °F; limited 2021 release.
