What beer are you drinking now? #3879

I hear ya. After 2 Hazies I gotta move on to something else. Doesn't matter if I really enjoy them. They will make my tummy do weird things.

 

Still hoping to run across this again after closing Extreme Beerfest 2013(?) with it.

I just had a great notion to fix myself a pastrami and Swiss on rye, paired with this beer:


Apparently I won’t be able to watch the follow up game to ECU-Oklahoma since I don’t have ESPN+, but rooting against @russpowell’s team for up to three games of the CWS regionals.

 

Sadly, it's fallen off a lot after 6 months. Not nearly as good as when fresh. It's released in January and not as easy to find as you'd think. This year I didn't see it in the local stores but a friend picked up a pack for me at the brewery.

 

Good to know. Though I did just run into Double DBA after all these years, so I won’t say, “Never.”

In Richmond, in 1969-1973I used to go to Chiocca's on Shields behind the Virginia Museum on Boulevard. Pastrami and Schweitzer on Pumpernickel. They knew I was good for two and two beers. Years later (90s) I took an Australian friend and supplier and he was amazed how good the sandwiches were. They remembered me! Great memories.......

This Nebraska beer ticks my 40th state (plus DC), and is all pepper.

Kros Strain Hot As Helles



Full review in the New Beer Sunday #954 thread. Long story short, I'm enjoying the pepper flavors, but this beer would have benefited with a little more balance to showcase the helles as well. Left a good portion to pair with lunch being prepped as I type. Thank you Dave @beergoot !

Cryo Thunder West Coast Pilsner at Oddwood Brewing

 

Good Sunday afternoon BAs. Cloudy, drizzly day in N. GA. Watching NCAA baseball tourney and enjoying a Round Trip Brewing German style Pilsner. This is a very spot on German pils right down to the appropriate level of bitterness. Well crafted beer.

My son is a sheriff's deputy here in GA. Called me this morning after his overnight shift. Told me he hit a Black Bear cub with his patrol car last night. Last week a moma bear was caught on the golf course near us. Starting to become a more common thing around here.

Was a chilly morning but I got the lawn mowed - 47 degrees at the time. I felt like having a porter so just picked up some Berkshire Drayman's porter canned 5/17/23 - always a tasty porter and only $8 for a sixpack. Having it with a couple pieces of Lindt Chili Dark Chocolate, lovely match!
