Still catching up and threads, so opening this post to edit to wish @beergoot Dave Happy Belated Birthday Wishes!

I have a week to fix my sleep, at least for my initial Vegas weekend when I'll sleep at night and wake up mid morning. Don't feel like writing a cellar review, so going with one of two remaining Oktoberfest beers in my possession.

    Revolution Oktoberfest

Hoping for major winds of change in 2024, of the good variety.

Cuvée des trolls as a rest and “reward” for the mere hour spent drawing this bellow:

Good day BAs! Thanks @dcotom for starting today's thread. I'm running late because of little sleep last night - coughing due to cold and URI. We got enough snow last night to actually mostly cover the ground (current temp 27F, -3C and cloudy). Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) I don’t know how authentic to the drink the taste and odor are, but I know, based on this stout, I won’t be buying one. Coconut, like time, is fleeting; cinnamon is too concentrated; there are no recognizable barrel notes; no vanilla (but I usually can’t taste it anyway); a ridiculous price point. Definitely one and done.

    Rating 3.95, rDev -4.6%

Once More With Feeling Double BA Barleywine
This is a nice introduction to Casita for me.

Thanks to CarolinaCardinals for not only entering this one into the DB but for sending it to MEi in our Barleywine/Stout BIF #1!
Deep mahogany (almost obsidian) in hue. Loosely packed head forms, with large bubbles that hint at tan, but tapers off quickly. Low retention, slight lacing.
Nose is Bourbon forward, hinting at a boozy warm ride. Caramel, dates, brown sugar, and a mild hint of charred barrel comes through as well. Very nice.
Flavor is different than the nose previewed. The sweetness shows up first. Caramel, brown sugar, toffee, dates, raisin, and candy sugars. Bourbon peeks in as it warms. The ride continues with hints of fruity port notes. This is the reverse of what I expected. Still good, but definitely sweet.
Mouthfeel has a respectable heft, low carbonation, and a smooth, gently warm finish.

I found that I’m a bit better at drawing women than men… whatever the reason, maybe it’s the facial features that are more noticeable on a woman… or just out of sheer interest for women. I once did Harrison Ford in one of his iconic role and it wasn’t too shabby.

Not too unhappy about this one, the nose and mouth required some more work. Incorrigible artist!

A nice reward for another draining day of housework - but we're getting there! The house is causing me a lot more happiness and a lot less stress after all of this work (and I already love my house!).

As long as they keep putting 4-packs of CBS on the shelf, I'll keep picking them up - and therefore, keep drinking them.

    Cheers!
