What beer are you drinking now? #4225

How is it?!? On my radar

 

1) Jever Pilsener (4.9%): An authentic German Pils with flavors of floral notes, hints of citrus, Crisp and clean.
versus
2) Rothaus Tannenzapfle (5.1%): An authentic German Pilsner with flavors of smooth pale malts, earthy notes. Smooth and yeast. (Correctly matched the two beer blind)

Winner:
1) Jever Pilsener: German Pils Battle. First is Jever. Probably has become my favorite as of recently. Bright, flavorful, and clean.
Next is Rothaus. A bit more earthy notes. A bit heavier and more yeasty as well. Sort of reminds me of Ayinger. Both are top notch, but slightly prefer the clean, drinkability of Jever.

 

Cellar Raid Bottle #2. Staying in 2021, might be our theme for the day.
Grateful for friends that selflessly are helping me clean out the cellar! Can’t drink as much as I used to and love the company lol

1) Toppling Goliath Cosmic Archer (7.8% canned 3/20/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin & Citra for flavors of orange citrus and pineapple zest, white grape, berries, and lychee. Zesty and clean.
versus
2) Boulevard Space Camper Elusive Thunder (9.5% no canning date): A NEIPA from KC (collab with Toppling Goliath) with Citra and El Dorado for flavors of smooth tropical orange, cantaloupe melon, pineapple, and papaya. Tropical and smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Toppling Goliath Cosmic Archer: Toppling Goliath vs. Boulevard IPA Battle. First is TG Cosmic Archer. One of my favorite hop combinations from probably one of the best breweries. The Citra, Mosaic, Nelson balance is pretty hard to beat. I'd rank this among their best.
Next is Boulevard Elusive Thunder, which is a collab with Toppling Goliath. Great El Dorado flavors giving it tropical orange, cantaloupe melon, and papaya. Where imperial IPAs usually fail in being too cloyingly sweet this maintains is cleanliness, dryness, drinkability, and hop flavor. One of the best imperial IPAs I've had in a while.
Two great breweries and IPAs, but Cosmic Archer is one of the best in recent memory.
