Good morning, BAs! Kind of the opposite of a "new" beer to kick off my day: a can of unknown age or pedigree.

Definitely a gusher; pic was delayed while I did some cleanup. Drinks wonderfully, though; still tastes awesome!

What's crafted in New Glarus, gets consumed in Illinois. So it is written, so shall it be done.

I had to look up what this actually is so it’s classified for those who care, as a light lager. And it’s very light but it’s also dry and hoppy so much so that I thought it was a golden ale of sorts. I’ve been seeing this in the city (Philly) for a couple years and it seems to have made its way to Jersey. If you like Founders Solid Gold then you’d like this. I personally just thought it was ok.

    cheers

It’s been a minute since we saw you around. Founders “yellow beers” while not awful kind of let me down a bit, whereas any of their stouts blew me away. Bells for instance has more consistency and literally any of their beers and styles I could try were awesome.

I concur with @tasterschoice62 's assessment of ribs, and criticism of the boiling / fall off the bone "rib jello" style known at several places in Chicago. I avoid pork these days, but there are still a few places which prepare beer ribs the proper way here. Really love South Carolina Mustard Vinegar sauce best. Sweet BBQ sauce is like Ranch dressing to me, can't/won't eat it.

Light in ABV, strong in flavor. Nicely balance, bursting with dark roast malt, nice dark / milk chocolate flavors. Delivers, reminds me a lot of Kalamazoo Stout / Deschutes Obsidian Stout, two great stouts in my book.

No black cold sun here, not sure if I'll remain a shut in until Wednesday after going out shortly for food and lunch.

    Happy Saturday BAs

Another very warm and humid day here - for those who have never tried a "pickle" beer - you should! Especially refreshing on a warm day...with home made garlic dills!

This outstanding Scottish-style stout exudes depth and complexity. I love that this is a straightforward high ABV stout with no crazy adjuncts or barrel aging. Simple overall, yet amazingly appealing because of this, this stout is a keeper.

    Trying the Grolsch summer blonde.
It is a bit Belgian Style White beer actually, with wheat and some bitter orange notes.
    Very Decent

The water is filtered as it runs through sandstone. It comes out soft and clean.

Freshest Sip I've had in a while, and it's noticeably danker. For my palate, I definitely prefer it in the 1-2 month old range, but for most people, I suspect this is probably ideal. Also reminds me why it used to taste so similar to Captain's Daughter - the latter of which has definitely grown danker with time (either by hop variation or recipe tweaks).

I’ll have to snag some Bells next time. In reference to Ba, I’ve been definitely not drinking as much as I used to and work keeps me so busy finally a big boy job haha and the young one of course. Tend to overshare been trying to not do that as well lol

not even sure Solid Gold is around but yea I could not call Kenwood an AAL at all but it does seem like a bridge to there.

grabbed a bunch of new beers yesterday will post up later on.

never had another dark beer from bells besides their normal stout with the brewers licorice I’ll be on the look out

Flight of mostly BA drinks at the mini-Luau at Mortalis Buffalo!

Angry Chair and the Mortalis Nyx are both double barrel! The Nyx bottles can only be had if you bought a VIP ticket for the full luau in Rochester.
