Onto round 2 and enjoying a recent pickup at a local gas station that is well stocked. Had me sold on Espresso, the chocolate is lightly played and blends nicely.

Condolences.

We lost our beloved dog 8 years ago. It was devastating. I had a dog at all times in my life, but after the last one, I could not get another one. My wife decided to get two cats this year, and I am back in the game, albeit a very different experience, but a very worthwhile experience. Cheers!

 

Caught up on the rest of my sleep after watching the implosion of the Tropicana, my second Vegas casino after two stays at the Riviera.

I stayed during a fraud audit I worked on at the Culinary Union, then stayed over a few days to meet friends and shifting base to Harrah’s. Won $4,400 primarily counting cards at BJ. Was a fun trip. Stayed once more at the remodeled version in 2012.

RIP Tropicana.

Weird combination, but, damn it works.

 

Time for the nearly daily Jai Alai. Three inches of rain so far and the winds are picking up a little, 10-15 mph. One tequila shot before a big storm is a tradition of the wifes and mine for the last 30 years. Prolly 1 more beer then be ready for whatever comes our way.

I did an aggressive pour here. Semi murky golden pour with a thick white head. There is some lacing as the head dissipates.
Aroma has a pleasing smoked malt aroma with a hint of lemon.
Smoke hits in a pleasing way here up front. Slight hint of lemon hits on the backside. It's a strange sounding combination, but it works.
The body is quite good. Not watery at all, and seems pretty thick for the low ABV.
It sounds strange, but this works so well.

 

Tilted Barns annual wet hop ale. They grow the hop bines there on the farm so it's as fresh as can be. And damn good too.

 

Sorry about your friend that's tough. My story is similar to @VABA my Golden died suddenly about 8 years ago - running towards me she dropped dead @10. Always had a dog. But I had 2 cats then 18 and 20 yrs. They're both gone now. My Magic 18 died on my lap on the way to the vet. Now I have three cats- one outdoor and 2 indoor but honestly I really miss having a woofer[
