It sucks when a favorite beer is removed from the line up. What would you like to see come back? For me it's Ruthless Rye - Sierra Nevada Tumbler- Sierra Nevada Smitten - Bells 1492 - TG Hop Wallop - Victory Crack'd Wheat - New Glarus Mosaic Promise - Founders @SierraTerence Any hope of either SN's hitting a wide distro this year?
Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron. During the “Extreme Beer Box” Instagram hookup with Todd and Sam, I asked if it would be brewed again. Sam said, “never say never”, but I heard that the massive Palo Santo wood barrel at the brewery had lost its flavor and was retired.
Hop Wallop is still around, but maybe with a different recipe? That’s a shame. I loved that one. Stone Ruination Stone Escondidian Black IPA Stone IRS Stone Old Guardian Troegs Flying Mouflan Victory St. Boisterous Victory St. Victorious Victory Helios Victory Old Horizontal Smuttynose Big A IPA many more
Stone IRS SN Tumbler Sloop The Black C (local black IPA) I would buy because we'll done, well priced classics but at same time I can't complain about selection for most styles. Honestly would rather have someone distribute shelf Dark and Pale Mild Ales then beers which still have contemporary similar available
Wookey Jack-FW Double Jack-FW Pivo Pils-FW Of course if they brought them back, Firestone might have to remove 1 of the 80 different hazy monstrosities they currently have in the line up. I know I haven't said this in a while, but fuck Duvel.
I didn't see it this year, did you? Here is a thread from a few months ago: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/victory-hop-wallop-gone-too-now.652924/ Cheers!

Do you think that Firestone Walker wouldn’t be subjected to the market forces impacting all comparable brewers if they weren’t purchased by Duvel Moortgat?
Smuttynose beers are unrecognizable now since they were bought out. I’m not sure what to make of chocolate banana sundae stouts
I need to cut and paste a running list for these threads. So many beers to begin with and even worse when they are retired or distro ceases in an area. Great Lakes Glockenspiel Great Lakes Rye of the Tiger Great Lakes Big Black Smoke Dogfish Head Chicory Stout (not seen in NE Ohio in years) Dogfish Head Bitches Brew Old Tankard Young's Brewing Pre-Wells acquisition Young's Oatmeal Stout Young's Ram Rod Young's Old Nick I could add many of those listed above but these always come to mind.
I am a little embarrassed to ask this but: how is Smuttynose doing these days? After the whole auction/purchase thing in 2018 I personally have 'lost track' with Smuttynose. Do the folks in New Hampshire (and other New England states) support/purchase Smuttynose beers? Cheers!
Well, as much as I'd like to speak for the entire state's populous - being it's finest representative and all haha - I have no idea. They still exist and have a presence, mostly I see the Smuttlabs stuff - drank a gifted one last night by coincidence. Old Brown Dog and Finestkind still on grocery store shelves. But, I really can't speak to their specific popularity. Don't know the last time I heard them mentioned by anyone. I'm also not above holding a grudge, so once Shoals disappeared, so did I from their coffer.
I once read an interview with Larry Bell's daughter who was running Bells at the time. The interviewer asked her what her goto beer was. She said "Oarsman Ale". I thought to myself, if the CEO says that's her goto, there has to be something to that. So I found it. And it was my favorite summer beer while it was still around. And then one day, it was retired. I would love for that beer to come back.
Besides a number of those mentioned above: The Bruery - Humulus Lager Portsmouth - Kate the Great Grand Teton - Persephone Pils; Howling Wolf Weizenbock Stone - DDH Sublimely Self Righteous Black IPA Jolly Pumpkin - Baudelaire IO Loterbol - Bruin Baird - Natsumikan; The Carpenters Mikan Was going to say Sam Adam's Noble Pils, but I see that isn't retired after all (these days I just keep buying Bitburger)!
I'll wish for Stegmaier Summer Stock Lager. If I remember correctly it was brewed for one year, 2005. I went through a case in several days while vacationing at the shore. Interestingly, back in the 1990s there was a local brew called Chickies Cream Ale, which disappeared after a few years. Several months ago the brewer finally opened a brewpub and has that beer back on tap, now called Chiques Rock Cream Ale. It was great drinking that one again, after maybe 25 years!
