The first craft beer I tried and case I bought was Dales's Pale Ale and to this day is my favorite. Why mess around with BMC?

Sierra Nevada Torpedo. At first it was really bad and I didn't understand what I was drinking. Good thing I didn't give up and found a few that was really good like Samuel Smith Oatmeal stout. Now that my palettes are trained I love lots of different Craft brews. Thanks Samuel Smith!

Used to sneak old Labatt Blues from the back fridge...until one day, I saw a different beer.
Once I tried this, my mind was blown by the difference and I never looked back.

Abita Amber. Took awhile to totally convert over but the transformation is complete. It took a long time before we started getting craft in local stores. I am talking like the last 3 or 4 years.

I'm surprised there arent more Sam Adams Boston Lager replies. It was probably my first craft beer (SABL), but the beer that turned me onto craft as a passion was Bells Two Hearted.

New Belgium Fat Tire in 1997. Had a keg of it, Coors Lite and several cases of wine at my wedding in 2000. The Fat Tire was the only thing leftover, which meant I had about 1/2 a keg of it waiting for me when I returned from my honeymoon.

Very likely the same beer as remains one of my all time favourites.I began drinking in the early 1960s when the local scene was dominated by small local brewers. These breweries would now be called craft. In fact a brewer from one of them set up a small 25 barrel plant 20 years ago and makes a pretty good replica of what I used to cut my beer drinking teeth.

Either Rogue Dead Guy, Sam Adams Boston Lager or Sierra Nevada. All of which are still regulars in the lineup.

Little brewery in LaPorte, In Call Backroad Brewery had the back road ale. That's the first and the beer that hooked me.

I don't remember. It was in the early 90s. I am sure it was one of these breweries:

    Bass
    Guiness
    Newcastle
    Sierra Nevada
    Anchor Steam
    Saranac
Oregon (I used to drink the hell out of some pale ale and nut brown ale)
    Pete's

I actually only got back into craft beer a few years ago. My, how things have changed since the early 90s.

Someone else bought it and I tried it not knowing anything but the name and I thought it was really strange. Not too long after that I bought it for myself and found out it was a tripel and then found out what a tripel was haha.
