I recently asked this question on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, but let's hear from the forum too.

    What's your go-to IPA?

Me: Probably Swami's from Pizza Port. It's an old-school West Coast IPA that I can always find fresh at the grocery store for around $11.99-14.99 for a 6-pack of 16oz cans.

Fresh Squeezed from Deschutes, if its too old I go local, Cape May IPA. Both currently in the fridge :beers:

Cape May has this super pungent orange zest aroma to it, taste is very orange forward to, it is super refreshing and has a nice bite.

My go to pale ale is daisy cutter. It hits all the ipa notes for me, and is about as much an American pale ale as zombie dust or SNPA. If that doesn't count, the Alpha King.

Right now it's Two Hearted from Bell's. It's a solid beer that I can usually find fresh in both cans and bottles, that doesn't break the bank. Very enjoyable.

Head Hunter for the "head" hunter. Probably. Most likely. Yeah, that's my answer for now. Much love, Todd! Peace...

Good question. Don't know why I still haven't got go-to beers, experimenting wildly.

This makes me wonder what PP does differently - that this price point is acceptable to them and pays the bills yet other breweries charge $20 / 4 pack. Now if they'd just can Poor Man's DIPA....

I don't have a specific beer, but anything from Sierra Nevada or Bell's.

(I've gotten to the point where I don't even bother with IPAs from anyone else.)

If we can include doubles, my go-to is G-Bot. If limited to just IPA, I'd say Counterweight Headway.

Spoiled with so many top notch locals and fresh releases it changes weekly! Westbound & Down IPA has quickly become a favorite since opening their Mill location in Lafayette just down the road.

Not necessarily a "go-to," but the year-round standard I have bought the most is Bodem from Half Acre. Delicious.

Another vote for Two-Hearted. Hell, you can grab it in most gas stations for cheap these days. Hard to beat the quality too.

    Right?

If I had to put my feet to the fire, it would be Two Hearted in a second, but yeah -- Powder Day was a great after-Dry January hop-quencher for me -- and Torpedo is a good go-to.

Although, I like Goose Island's and the local from Tighthead, Bear's Choice.

All this from a non-IPA oriented beer drinker, FWTW.

(BTW -- sure wish I could find Anchor Liberty more available... or is that an APA?)

I'm in same boat as Todd, I grab either PP Swami's or Revision IPA 6ers depending on whichever is fresher or what store where I'm shopping.

If I had easier access to it then it would have been Heady. But given that I don't, my go to is Sip of Sunshine.

Sure, they are both DIPAs but anyway.

Head High from Kane is another go-to.

SNAPPY, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale would be my first choice, but since as the name implies, it's listed as a pale ale, I'll go with SN Torpedo (ok it's an Extra IPA whatever that is).

I'm not chained to any beer and like to try new stuff when buying from a beer store. However, at a restaurant, nothing new, I go local: Smartmouth Notch 9 DIPA or O Connor El Guapo Agave IPA (curse o Connor for retiring Great Dismal Black IPA)

I thought hard about it and i don't have one cuz i drink an IPA at most every 2 weeks to a month. If i had to pick i wouldn't even know where to start. It would probably be something from El Segundo or i don't know where else...Fremont maybe?

Lagunitas IPA is a regular of mine because widely available and cheap. You asked for « go-to IPA » not for that overpriced stuff.

Sumpin Sumpin or SNPA while technically not IPA are and have been go-to of mine for years too.

Whichever IPA from Brewery X (in Anaheim CA) is currently being carried by the local Trader Joes. They are always good and always extremely fresh. The brewery is only a few miles away, but ya know, I'll drink at home where I can drink from proper glassware instead of those stupid Solo cups at the brewery. #2 is the Kveik IPA from Boulevard. I don't know why, other than the fact that I always like it and it is somewhat different from the multitude of other IPAs.

Pernicious from Wicked Weed, very good. You Bells Two Hearted fans, try this. Lagunitas IPA and Lil Sumptin are always good safe bets. Also Sierra Nevada Torpedo.
