There's a Yard House location about 5 miles from my Haus. It's been there for quite a few yrs. They have lots of tap beers (and they're fresh) and the food is good but parking is a bitch in that area. I'll have to make a point of going specifically to try their house IPA, whatever it might be.
I go to YardHouse several times every baseball season. There is one very close to Great American Ball Park. The mrs. and I enjoy their menu and beer list.
That sounds like they're being secretive about brewing the beers in that building in the back, as if they're trying to avoid the alcohol tax.
https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/72/592545/ The link is for the Yard House entry. If you then look at BA's Schneider beer list and sort by style, you'll see 4 listings for Helles. The Yard House beer, the Bayrisch beer and the Landbier are all the same ABV. Untappd has Landbier and Bayrisch combined into one listing, and I've seen that listing on tap at a place in NY that isn't Yard House. I have no idea if the Yard House beer is a typical house rebrand or actually a different beer. I have no idea if the Landbier and Bayrisch beers are the same beer. When you read the BA description of the fourth Hell on the list - Tegernseer, it sounds like grouping this beer with Schneider is an error in the BA database.
I just looked at the website for the closest Yard House and their beer menu calls "Give 'em Helles" a collaboration between Yard House and Schneider Weiss. Collaboration probably translates to "paying for the naming rights." I'd still give it a try if I ever get in there again -- especially since I've never seen Schneider's Helles in the U.S.
There's a Yard House 2 miles from me at the Staples Center plaza. Only been once. Saw they have Utopia there for like 25 a 2 oz pour or someshit. Their beer selection is decent. The food?
I would have definitely ordered a second one with a deal like that! Although 40oz of Framboise "might" be a challenge getting down?
This Yard House y'all speak of sounds like a fun watering hole. It looks like the closest one to me is in King of Prussia, which is out of my usual travel range. I will definitely stop in that one for some beer next time I swing through that area now though. I want the Schneider Helles!
Just remember to bring a fat piggy bank. Neither the beers or the food is economically priced. Cheers!
I dont really care about that stuff . I can buy a bottle of Buffalo Trace for that price or a pour of 583837373 different high end Bourbons
Yep. Last Yard House I went to was in Honolulu several years ago. Probably not a smart move on my part (I was in the mood for a good IPA). Prices are high generally in Honolulu, so my wallet really took a beating at the Yard House. Food was OK I thought, but still not worth what I was charged at the YH.
Maybe you caught them on a bad day, the food at the Long Harbor is better than average for what it is, they’ve been there for close to 30 years now. If anyone saw the news story about a month ago about the whale trapped in the Long Beach Harbor, the Yard Houses patio is right there, we tend to take out of town visitors there, good food, better view and fair prices, no one that I’ve ever been gives a shit about beer though.
