I'm going on a road trip in just over a week, and staying in Memphis, TN for a long weekend. What are some must stop breweries amd beer spots anybody would recommend?
I was eyeing this thread in hopes of gaining some insight into Memphis recommendations, as I'm tentatively headed up there in December. Alas, I dug through the US-South forum and found these two relatively recent threads with insight about places in Memphis for beer and BBQ which might be helpful: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/memphis.658109/ https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/memphis-highlights.620311/ Cheers!
I appreciate the feedback these region sections are always a bit quiet compared to the general threads.
Would recommend the new downtown Wiseacre, Crosstown is solid, Bosco's Squared as well for breweries. Young Avenue Deli had a pretty big beer selection last time I was there, also Flying Saucer for beer bars.
Going to be in Downtown Memphis without a car in a couple of weeks. I see Wiseacre and Saucer are downtown. Any other recommendations for downtown beer & BBQ? Cheers!
Rendezvous is down there but don't bother. Tourist trap and the bbq isn't good....Blues City Cafe on Beale might be your best bet for BBQ...The BBQ Shop is over in Midtown and it's amazing. Cozy Corner isn't that far from you and is highly recommended but it's several blocks over....
There is a Central BBQ downtown-ish not far from Wiseacre as well as the above options. Would say I like Blues City, but it is a sauced rib instead of the typical Memphis dry rub. Silky O'Sullivan's BBQ is not bad for it being a full on bar. Off menu recommendation, but go to Dyer's and get a greasy burger late night.
