“Budweiser and Bud Light aluminum bottles are reportedly being redesigned with a special camouflage print, a pattern usually associated with sport hunting. According to The New York Post's source, the cans will also feature images of the “Folds of Honor” scholarship program, which helps fund education for families of fallen and disabled US military and first responders.”

Absolutely. Because it’s about the packaging, not the product inside.

I dunno, camouflage packaging might make it harder for their target audience to find it on shelves and especially when shooting at it outdoors the next time their branding and marketing offends conservative sensibilities.

I also have a 6er of Fin City Pitboss brown that's sorta kinda camo too.

Because nothing goes together like hunting with firearms and impairing yourself.

Maybe they just didn’t want Kid Rock to be able to see the can since he’s shootings at them.

USA flags and sports team packaging definitely help on the labels. It may take some time, but yes I think this camo packaging will help. I don't think this will be a long term problem for Bud Light.

    Dear Budweiser and Bud Light:

In wondering whether a special new can design will help you increase beer sales, please consider Kellogg’s Unicorn cereal, which I purchased at Costco for my daughter, who at the time was a sucker for anything unicorn/rainbow related. How could I go wrong?

Now please see the expiration date (below). You see, if the contents of the package are crap—as, evidently, this cereal is, at least according to my daughter (who is now in 10th grade and has her driver’s license), no amount of unicorns, rainbows, camouflage, or Harley-Davidson logos can save it.

Thanks. I knew I'd seen other camo packaging in the past.

    And never purchased.

Sports branding is definitely a good way to boost sales. I've noticed a lot of craft breweries step in over the years to secure branding with different sports teams and it has been interesting to watch it unfold. Locally O'Connor used to make Walk-Off Kolsch which included the home game schedule for the Norfolk Tides on the can which was neat. At the very least it makes for a cool collector's item. I thought about saving a can but unfortunately never did.

With the hunting and alcohol aspect already covered, you've just brought down the full weight of the BATF on A-B customers.

I have to say as a non-Miller, non-InBev customer all these marketing issues are just plain entertainment for me. My only reservation is that the BA threads on this subject will become political.

It’s been a political couple of weeks on BA, at least compared to how I’ve always known the site to be.

I was always partial to the all hunters orange realtree cans myself.

Maybe A-B should follow my local bank's lead and allow its customers to choose from a diverse array of package designs.

Non-political rant: This doesn't offend conservative sensibilities. It offends the sensibilities of anyone with enough common sense to see through this pathetic attempt to reclaim the customers they lost by using the same "redneck" stereotyping that cost them those customers in the first place. It's actually pretty funny to see them keep digging their hole deeper and deeper and running out of people to throw under the bus. I hope they go broke not because they're "woke," but because they're major-league world-class asswipes.
