based on that, looks like 2.5 months until they get federal approval.

Yep, which sucks. I wonder if they are allowed to brew in the meantime. Otherwise my 2015 membership will be a 2016 one?

Lol. This is awesome to watch.

    1. Ask people for money, lots of money, to build your brewery.
    2. Create society.
    3. Post pictures of yourselves traipsing around in fields of dandelions on facebook.
    4. ???????

That is admittedly how it feels, although I'm sure they are far from profiting. It would be nice if the 100 members that forked over $350 dollars got at least a welcome email along with maybe a "vision" for their cellar society. I mean, please at least acknowledge us at least?

Having said all that I am still excited to see what comes out of this brewery and feel like they have a very promising future.

You can't brew until TTB (137 business days out as of February) and OLCC (~30 business days in our experience) licensing is through. OLCC filing can't start until the Fed is done.

But wouldn't you be totally shitting your pants if you were them? I would. I'd be falling over myself to get information to the people who gave money up front. But instead its like, oops btw, our application TO ACTUALLY BECOME A BREWERY isn't even close to being processed. But don't worry, relax! Drink a beer (not ours)!

Seriously, how self-satisfied do you have be to come at it like this? No communication at all outside of facebook to the society members? I really wouldn't normally give a shit but the more I think about it, it's really bad for the beer community and frankly for the Oregon beer community.

    Sorry. :slight_frown:
Just trying to give you the info you were looking for.

Edit: That timeline is assuming there aren't any filing issues (happened to us during one of our expansions), which effectively puts you to the back of the line again.
    Still sorry!

Lol, no worries. Just trying to harsh your mellow.

Yes, if it were me I would be keeping the members updated every step of the way, especially since they consist of $35,000 of the start up campaign. Having said that they seem hard at work and I refuse to be pessimistic.

    Trying to be supportive.

Could not agree more. As you indicated, I would be falling over all myself to contact the folks who have provided money up front, all based on faith in my potential, to let them know what's going on, and to try to assuage their concerns. Maybe that will happen shortly...

Well I find it funny that no one from the brewery has commented, but yet another brewer did. But I'm with the camp that says that there should be something communicated with the folks who put money up.

Don't expect them to be open anytime soon. Their website says they hope to be licensed and brewing by this fall.

Yeah as much as I wish every brewer was as active on here as de Garde - it's just not the case. This post just resurfaced today, so I'd give it a few days before expecting a comment on here.

The new industry posting rules will keep a lot of brewers from not posting.
