Seeing as the World Cup is starting in roughly two weeks, I was wondering if any of my fellow BA's had any beer related WC plans going on?

The world cup cannot get here soon enough!

I'll probably be focusing more on sessions or imports, as 90 minutes is a long time.
We're Croatian so I'll have to stock up on the Karlovacko. It's really just a Croatian Heiniken but there's something about that green bottle/skunky flavor that brings me back to when my dad and his friends would have beers after their games and always give me sips. It's taste/scent nostalgia at it's finest!

Also I'll be stocking up on German, Italian, Polish, Czech, English, Irish and Mexican beers I'm sure.

    OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE!

(although that thread is about finding beers from countries represented in the World Cup... not necessarily about how/where/what you'll be watching/imbibing...)

Are we taking bets on which countries fans start the first riot?

Brazilians are already rioting. I think they win.

Due to the draw all German beer and German styles have been banned fr my house. Unless we beat them of course.

Cheering England to their first cup since '66! If, by some twist of fate, that does happen, I'll crack open my last King Henry to celebrate! In the meantime, low alcohol English and English style ales!

Take more than a twist of fate old chum, more like a bloody miracle and a complete meltdown by about a dozen other teams. All italian food and drink banned from the house until after the opening game.

Good name you got there too,

four years ago I enjoyed the WC by drinking beer early in the day and watching the games with friends and family. Not sure about the start times for games this year but I intend to do the same.

I'm afraid us supporters of the good ol' USA may need to down some higher ABV beers this June...

No. Standard cycle of drinking...unless the US makes it to the semi-finals or finals...Then, I will be drunk for the remainder of the summer starting from the front and ending to the back of the fridge...

Since I'll be watching most of the games from work, I'll be pacing like a lunatic until I can get home, at which point I will pace like a lunatic with a beer in my hand. And, as others have said, if the US advances, I will call out from work and just go apeshit in all regards...

Luckily our chapter of American Outlaws meets up at a great beer bar. I have superstitions regarding Bell's, Founder's, and (unfortunately) Budweiser. Hopefully I can stick to the first two.
