I just had a can of the collab "Zero Discipline" between 18th street and Transient Artisan Ales. Just wondering if anyone had an idea what yeast they used for this beer. I love the flavor and would like to use something similar. Thanks!

Never had the beer, but I see that its a Double IPA. There is really a range of yeast that would work for that style, so maybe shoot them an email? If you do, don't forget to report back for posterity.

I did find this - "Each brewery used their own yeast for the same recipe." https://untappd.com/b/transient-artisan-ales-zero-discipline/2054918

It was a NEIPA style double. It had a unique flavor profile from the yeasts typically used for the NEIPAs that I have had/made. Didn't know if anyone had some info one way or another. I reached out to both breweries and have not heard anything back yet.

Bummer. Someone around here might know or maybe you can explain what you might be getting from the yeast?

Which yeast strains have you used to brew your beers?

Another consideration is that a given yeast strain will produce differing flavor profiles with differing fermentation conditions (e.g., fermentation temperature, pitch amounts, etc.).

    Cheers!

    I've used 1318, Conan, s05 so far.

It was bubblegum-esque reminiscent of a treehouse type of flavor. Figured there might be more info about this yeast out there as it is a smaller brewery.

I like to harvest yeast from dregs, and typically the first thing I do is contact the brewery and ask them what type of yeast it is that I'm harvesting. If I recall, there was only one time that I didn't get a response back, so I'd say an email is your best bet.

Hell, I even got a response back from ‎Jeppe himself at EvilTwin minutes after I sent him an email on their Femme Fatale strain. Good customer service right there!

Oops - my comments got screwed up. I also meant to reply to you to say that OP mentioned he already emailed both breweries with no response yet.
