BECAUSE BEER will take place on July 11 and 12, 2014 at Pier 4 Park in Hamilton, ON and will feature craft beer sampling from over 20 craft beer companies, a BJCP-sanctioned homebrew competition, a music stage, guest speakers, and specialty food trucks.
The mission of BECAUSE BEER is to bring together craft beer brewers to showcase their product and their dedication to quality craft beer. It is aimed at anyone who is interested in enjoying and discovering craft beer – from beer aficionados to the casual beer drinker or beer lover. The festival will provide a unique opportunity to sample a variety of craft beers, interact with the brewers who create the product, listen to live music and informative guest speakers, and enjoy a meal from a variety of local food trucks.
The lineup of special guests includes Crystal Luxmore, a Certified Cicerone and beer columnist, who will take her audience through a series of contests that will teach, entertain, and challenge you to do beer better. Learn the art of the perfect pour, how to sniff out a bad beer, and what to eat with your favourite beer style.
BECAUSE BEER will also host a BJCP-Sanctioned Homebrew Competition. Join us on Saturday, July 12 for our Best of Show judging and BJCP Competition Awards Ceremony. Details are available here.
Hamilton’s own Harlan Pepper and the Dinner Belles will provide musical entertainment.
Admission is $25 per day with a two-day pass available for $40. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or on the day of at the festival gate. Admission price includes one BECAUSE BEER tasting mug and four craft beer samples. Two-day passes include an additional six craft beer samples. Extra samples can be purchased for $1 each.
The event will run from 4pm – 11pm on Friday, July 11 and from 12pm – 8pm on Saturday, July 12.
The Breweries currently involved are Double Trouble Brewing Co., Nickel Brook, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery, Samuel Adams, Collective Arts Brewing, Mill St. Brewery, Wellington Brewery, McAuslan, Hop City Brewing Co., Ontario Beer Company and HogsBack Brewing Co. as well a various Hamilton based Food Trucks will be present.
BECAUSE BEER is a licensed 19+ event. Valid photo identification must be presented to enter the festival area. Please drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive.
