Oregon Breweries (Breweries Series)

Between the Willamette Valley, the gorgeous coastline, and 192 breweries (“and counting”), Oregon easily makes the list of top global beer destinations—which can make an Oregon beercation seem a little overwhelming. In his second book, BA contributor Brian Yaeger does the planning for us, profiling each and every brewery with interviews, origin stories and must-have beer recommendations—from Portland’s thirsty neighborhoods (the city drinks the highest percentage of craft beer in the country), to Eugene’s Brewery District (five of its 13 breweries are within one really fun mile). Yaeger makes sure we hit up the kiteboarding in Hood River between pints of Brett-driven Saisons at Logsdon Farmhouse Ales, and that we don’t miss Crater Lake National Park on our way to try Bricktown Brewing Co.’s renditions of the new hop-bursting technique. There are also wineries, cideries, coffee roasters and cheesemakers to visit, and everyone gets their due. Suddenly that beercation seems a lot more doable.
