The Black Sands concept, referred to loosely as “open source brewing,” invites people to visit the brewery, enjoy the atmosphere, drink the beer and then if they’re interested in homebrewing, go next door where customers will be given recipes to make a scaled down version of the same beer.
Bars and pubs across the country, from The Oregon Public House in Portland to Finnegan’s in Minnesota and CAUSE in Washington DC, make their business model about giving back to local charities.
As many brewers are quick to mention, fermentation is an ancient science, and is even referenced in the Bible. So, perhaps microbreweries are not such a new idea in Israel.
