Pilsner Urquell Nefiltrovaný (unfiltered) is available on the Plzensky Prazdroj tour and at Na Parkanu in Plzen. A limited number of kegs are exported for special events. Though the beer is not kvasnicovy (yeast beer), as there is no wort or young yeast added, it is unpasteurized and unfiltered.

I had this beer on-tap as a šnyt pour in a dimpled mug at the Pilsner Urquell pub at the brewery in Plzeň.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and an enormous head of ivory foam. Great!
Smell: sweetish malt with a good yeastiness and just a little bit of hop bite.
Taste: lovely caramelly, almost buttery malt (but not in a bad, diacetyl way). Hops are fresh and springy and the bitter bite rounds things out nicely. Really good.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a great carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: obviously context is a big part of my appreciation of this beer, drinking a šnyt pour at the brewery. But dang, it’s still a damn fine beer!

Had on tap. Like the tank beer by murkier in appearance, still full head that is sustained. Smells is yeastier and hoppier, still has sweeter malt, but now supporting. Get lemon coming through with the herbs. Taste is hoppier too, getting a hint of multvitamin and faint toasted brioche, but still has the yeast and malt in... check (couldn't resist). Very smooth and full with obvious yeast that is softer than expect but potent. The quintessential czech pilsner

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Fairly clear golden colour (beginning of keg, will probably be hazier towards the end). Large white head. Strong aroma of herbal hops (Saaz, I assume), hints of butterscotch as expected, but not disturbing. Lovely and fresh hoppy and herbal character throughout in the flavour, distinct bittering hops in the finish.

First time drinking this Pilsner Urquell. Didn’t know what to expect. Wow! It’s fabulous! I was floored! Rating this Lager 1-5, it’s a world class 5 all around, from appearance, to aroma, to taste & mouth feel. The aroma is 4.5, strong, like a dank lager. The appearance is 5, beautiful clear gold, with a healthy head and tiny bubbles constantly fizzing up from the bottom. Taste is 5, classic, full bodied, straight down the middle, no denying it’s a lager! Mouth feel is 5, like a Lager with substance from tip of tongue to back of tongue. Nothing light about it, just a solid lager mouth feel. Overall rating is 5. Absolutely enjoyable from start to finish! This 178 year old lager recipe brewed in Plzen Czech is classic hard core lager, Pilsner style
