Another interesting find from my visit to Euston Tap at London's Euston Station.
I classified this as an English Porter (instead of American) because the English-American brewing classifications are becoming less useful. The English tradition has a lot less holding it back and Marble has produced one more example that proves that innovation in British brewing is well on the make.
Incidentally, the first three words of the beer's name (UHN) are Swedish meaning "up all night." And with all the coffee in it, I think I'm in for a long night of reviews.
UHN Looks a bit lighter than the traditional porter, but leaves a nice lace. Smells are about the coffee, some malt and, then, lots more coffee. Tastes are a bit of battle between the coffee's dryness and some lactose/malt sweetness. A nice inter-play.
This can sit in my mouth anytime. A treat. UHN is desert and coffee in one can.
I went on Marble's website and got another pleasant surprise: they were born in the previous century. (Actually 1999.) But they have two pubs in Manchester (missed them in the three times I was there, but give me reason for fourth.) I'm impressed by their range of beers and their barrel-aging program... a whole lot of stuff you get to do when you age !
I hope to visit you before Q1 of the 21st Century is done.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
