Canned in a big old tallboy crafty craft can and purchased from the Marble Arch pub during Big Jim’s birthday bash
Pours a fairly clear golden body with nice tight thick white head
Aroma is maize and yeast
Flavour is dry sweet rolled oats then a reassuring bitter finish

Rocket is blends The Classics Department getting together with goofy chemists and brewing a beer. In the case of Rocket, I feel lucky that the experiment worked out... but I'm not sure how. Best Bitters, which to me are among the most classic of the British styles, follow a very narrow range of differences. So, Best Bitters largely taste the same.
But Rocket is different. It uses hops that are foreign to the Best Bitter tradition... and gets away with it.
Rocket Looks appetising, nice big foam that stays active. Smells are mostly malt (a classic Best Bitter trait.) But the Taste is full of nontraditional sensations, the primary one coming from North American tasting hops. They were so strong that I stopped eating my cheese plate. But the Taste sensation from the beer was good enough. All I have to decide is if I want those sensations again. And as a malt-head, I probably don't. But the experience was worth it.
Marble gets excellent Overall Hugs from me because of their gastropub (renown British food) and brewing to pair with that menu. I'd like to visit them if I ever make it to Manchester in this life again. And if it's in the after-life, that will suit my fine as long as they still have their traditional English Bitter on the cask. Cheers !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
