a. Poured ontap into a pint glass. Light orangeish in color with a tightly bubbled head.
S. Funky fresh n' Sweet.
T. Tart is the first word I would use to describe this brew. A nice fruity pucker. A light tea like hop on the back end.
M. Medium bodied. Full flavored.
D. This one drinks easily, but I took my time with it. Nice flavors and nothing out of place. A standard saison and glad I got to try this.

This serving is actually a session ale #21, but it is still Grisette, so I will review it here isntead of adding a new beer. Although this one is a little different than the first, I would guess it is still the same beer.
A cloudy, hazy, yellow body with about a finger of bone white head that doesn't stick around long. Only a few bits of lacing accumulates on my tulip.
The smell is mostly peppery with some bready malt, it also has a slightly sweet, sugary aroma.
Just like everything out of East End, this one is tasty. First up is some lemony flavored followed by a good blast of peppery, coriander flavor. Slight notes of candied sugar and a good blast of bready yeast come next. There is a slight hop presence in there that balances things out.
Mouthfeel is very light and well carbonated, disappearing the tongue. This is a good mouthfeel for a saison.
As with most of the session ales that come out of East End, I'm blown away by the huge flavor in this very small ABV% beer. The craft movement has become so focused on bigger, bolder beers that it is nice to see a small one that is packed full of flavor, complex, and great. This is one you can drink all night for sure.

Thanks to LargeSarge for picking up a growler of this for sharing.
A-Hazy golden-orange with a medium white head that reduced to a thin cap and left a good amount of clinging lace.
S-Spicy yeast with notes of clove being most prevelant. a prevalent. Bit of underlying citrus sweetness and herbal qualities in the background.
T-Spicy smack of clove to start things off with peppery finish. A bit of citrus and earthy, biscuit malt come in and support. Ends with a tart/sour dryness.
M-Light bodied and a bit thin....after all it's only 3.5% so I guess I shouldn't expect much. With all of that flavour though. Ends with a lingering peppery bite and drying citrus rind aspect.
D-A totally sessionable French farmhouse brew. This one packs plenty of flavour for it's overall lightness. A great brew that exemplifies that you don't need to have 10% ABV to have a multitude of palate tempting flavour. A very nicely done job with this rarely seen style.

Growler into shaker pint on 2/23/09. Thanks to LargeSarge for sharing.
A - Poured a cloudy golden body with two fingers of rocky white head that left quite a bit of sticky foam on the sides of the glass.
S - Spicy, yeasty nose with a prevalent clove character and some mild pepper notes. There is also an underlying fruity aspect suggesting citrus.
T - Initial flavor is spicy on the tongue with hints of clove and, to a lesser degree, pepper. Malt is wheaty and bready and adds a bit of depth to the flavor, while a splash of citrus balances out the spiciness a bit. Finishes with an earthy bitterness and a mild herbal hop bite, and just a touch of sour funk.
M - Light to medium bodied with a pretty thin mouthfeel overall, perhaps a bit watery. Finishes slightly bitter on the palate.
D - I found this to be quite light and sessionable for a Belgian-style ale. Flavors were pronounced and complex enough to keep me interested throughout.

Hell yeah, 3! new Session Ales out at once, including this Grisette (and a version with cherries). Picked up the growler at the brewery this afternoon.
A - Pale, golden yellow color with a slight haze. Topped with a solid cap of bone white foam, ~ 2 inches thick. Leaves concentric rings of lacing on the glass.
S - Pale malts and an herbal, grassy aroma are present, but altogether subtle. Think herbal tea with lemon.
T - Light and crisp flavor. As with the aroma, there is an assertive herbal tea component, with a spritz of lemon. Sweet, bubble gummy esters peek through from the background periodically. Finish is dry with a toasted grain bitterness
M - Light and crisp bodied with loads of carbonation.
D - Another highly drinkable creation from East End, very sessionable. Good to find a beer with some nice Belgian characteristics with this low ABV.
