Serving Type - 33.8 oz flip top bottle

Appearance - Golden tan/yellow, 1 inch foamy head or with some lacing. Very unfiltered and cloudy.

Smell - Sour funky bret like odor. Farmhouse/saison floral notes. Some pineapple, orange, lemon, grapefruit.

Taste - Starts off with a sour, bland and flat flavor, A little grainy and funky. Theres minor lemon and apple sweetness, Im guessing the grain im tasting is the spelt? Not very enjoyable, boring taste. No alcohol comes out and the finish is forgetable.

Mouthfeel - Grain and sourness coats tounge. Dry sour and more grain with some lemon on palate. Aftertaste is weak, dry and yes, grainy.

Overall - Not very good, this really sucks. Boring, bland and very one dimesional. Just a grainy sour flavor, low on sweetness and fruits, or any balance. Worst beer ive had at east end for sure. Wish they had this on tap at brewery so i didnt waste my money on this bottle that i cant wait to finish

Had this on 2013-02-06 in Columbia, PA from a 1 liter swing-top bottle from the brewery. Bottled in August, 2012.

A - Moderately-clear yellow amber with no head.

S - Mildly sour note. Spicy rye/wheat, which I assume is the spelt. Lite perfume.

T - Mildly-roasted spelt grain, spicy, touch of lemon and white pepper. Finishes mildly tart, spicy and with mild-moderate bitterness.

M - Thin body and light carbonation. Could do with more carbonation.

O - An interesting brew. Bonus points for a unique flavor that I've not had before. My wife liked it too. My first spelt beer.
