Listed as retired. This can appears to have a canning date of August 2021. A year and a half old.
Pours a nearly clear golden color with a tall fluffy head and moderate lacing.
Smells of dank grassy, piney hops .
Tastes of sweet malt with a wheat tanginess, lemon and cantaloup with a peppery , boozy warm finish.
Medium body with light carbonation. Watery mouthfeel.
This is a strong but otherwise a mild mannered West Coast IPA.

can - pours a hazy pale gold with a 2 finger white cap...hop and malt aromas are fairly subdued...some hints of floral-citrus and boiled grains....rounded mellow character and soft mouth feel....flavor is balanced with hop bittering in tow and malts riding just below palate threshold...soft on the palate, lightly bitter finish...really nothing special here but quenching

Pours dark gold colour with a thick fluffy head. The taste/smell is too potent for me alcohol wise. The alcohol overpowers the taste. I realize it’s a strong beer, but I’ve had other strong beers lately with much more beer taste and less booze taste. This one is not top of my list

How a DIPA can have this much malt, I don't understand. And it was canned a month ago.
Flying Monkeys has been IPA-ing the market and some of their stuff is good. Even this one is okay. But the malt makes it artificially sweet, even with the peppery hops. And that ruins most of it for me. Darker than a good modern IPA and the nose is sweet as well. Kind of a throwback IPA, not really a DIPA as I like it.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 17 2020 and served barely chilled. I can't believe how many new IPAs these guys have shipped out over the past year or so... let's see how this one measures up.
Pours hazy and translucent, with a medium golden-coloured body upon which is situated more than a finger of foamy, sparkling white head. It seeps off within the next three or four minutes; a fine, even coat of lacing is deposited in its wake, with a creamy collar and filmy thin cap also remaining in place. It's very visually attractive, but its aroma is somewhat muted by IPA standards: I'm detecting notes of black tea, citrus and tropical fruit, with hints of melon, apricot and coriander spice.
Another hop bomb from the Flying Monkeys - I'm getting orange, grapefruit, melon and passion fruit at the forefront, with notes of stone fruit, lemon and apricot. These lead into an increasingly pithy, spicy finish with some floral, resiny bitterness that clings to the palate, lingering into a spicy, earthy, slightly warming aftertaste. Medium in body, with assertive carbonation that prickles the palate continuously throughout the sip; feels smooth and a little slick on the tongue. Fair drinkability given it's strength, but one serving should be plenty.
Final Grade: 4.03, an A-. While I did find Psycho Thrill Seekers easy enough to toss back, I struggled to identify many superlative features that might justify its wacky, extreme name. The citrusy, fruity hop aspects are largely enjoyable, but it's honestly a little boozy for 8%, and the spicy bits are not particularly attuned to my preferences - I could've done with a bit more lemon zest as a counterweight, for instance. Either way, it's still a pretty well-crafted strong, hoppy pale ale that I'd say is well worth trying at least once. I'd drink this one again, but as far as the Flying Monkeys go, their Juicy Ass remains my go-to.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for under $4 CDN. Canned March 17, 2020, making this one month old.
Appearance - Hazy rich golden color capped with more than two fingers of dense rocky white head. Great staying power and loads of lacing at the edges of the glass.
Smell - tropical notes of citrus mixed in with stone fruit of peaches and apricots. Lemon is distinguishable from other citrus. Not the biggest nose out there.
Taste - Quite a bit of sweetness, stone fruits like peaches and juicy sweet citrus such as pineapple and cantaloupe especially. Bitterness is fairly subdued although the lemon zest makes and appearance here keeping things restrained.
Mouthfeel - Very soft and fleshy, quite juicy with a lower carbonation level. Dry finish that is nearly but not quite chalky.
Overall - Psycho Thrill Seekers adds to the band of very tasty IPA's and DIPA's that Flying Monkeys has been on a run with. By my count that is almost half a dozen in the past 16 months or so (Sparklepuff, Tiny Little Wizards, Killer Cupacke Panda, Freakshow Crush and now Psycho Thrill Seekers). Sparklepuff's the only one I was blown away with, but that's in a different weight class, and all of them have been distinct enough to one another to enjoy and all are quite good. Well worth a try.

Who doesn’t need a good thrill ride these days? oh wait....memories of more enjoyable thrill rides? Hmmmm
Poured from a March can into a Flying Monkeys tulip. This one pours tangerine opaque with great collar. Nose is subtle here of soft hops and fruit finish. Taste is sweet yet also subtle. Surprisingly smooth for an 8% this one begins slow with orange hints and the lemon shines mid taste and late. Finish is also subtle lemon. This one will shine in the summer.
