At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Barrie, ON brewery.

473 mL can
Served in an imperial nonic pint glass

This beer pours orange and turbid with tan chunks slowly settling to the bottle of the glass. It is topped with several inches of tan head that leaves decent lacing.

It has a faint passionfruit aroma. I am surprised that I get more of a dank aroma.

Tropical fruit flavor. Passionfruit is pretty faint, but there.

Medium bodied with slightly chalky mouthfeel

Decent beer

Can from LCBO - pours a clouded orange color with fruit pulp particulate suspended in the brew.... a 2 finger cap that doen't last because of the acidity from the fruit...gorgeous exoptic fruit and hop aroma with a malt under tone....medium bodies dry, hoppy, fruity, acidic character....flavor is like a NEIPA on steroids....fruity-malt-hop complexity almost chewy....long wet fruity dry bitter finish....I don't like fruit beers but this is a good offering that is very drinkable

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jan 31 2023 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a golden-amber hue, its complexion muddied by scores of pulpy flecks that hover and swirl throughout its body. Situated atop is over an inch of foamy, sparkling white head that lasts for a little over five minutes, eventually eroded down to a frothy, sudsy collar and cap. Generous lacing, too - looks great, and it certainly delivers passion fruit on the nose, as well as aromas of tangerine, apricot, papaya and berries; dank, floral, earthy hops are also discernible.

Lots more passion fruit to come, as it's a near-constant presence throughout each sip - there are also flavours of orange, white wine, tart berries and stone fruit, backed by hints of bready pale malt and oat sweetness. Finishes with hints of floral, earthy hop bitterness and passion fruit, the latter lingering into the aftertaste before drying partially. Medium in body, with lively carbonation that adds spritz to this brew's juicy mouthfeel.

Final Grade: 3.74, on the high end of a B grade. Crowd Surf Motel was a semi-unique experience for me: passion fruit is not uncommon in fruited sours, and there are also several hop varietals that imitate it well enough... but it's not often that an IPA blasts me in the face with passion fruit puree like this one just did. I'm not in love with it or anything, but it's well-constructed and easy enough to like - not the Monkeys' finest work, but worth a try anyhow. I'd especially recommend this to beer geeks who've never eaten an actual passion fruit, and would like to be able to identify that flavour/aroma more confidently.

Orange color
Poured into glass with a 1 finger head leaving a lace as you drink it .
Sour tropical fruits smooth with a dank smell with a medium bitterness level
Overall an ok passion fruit IPA but not overpowering with flavors more of the smell I think is more noticeable is like a skunk dank smell I can't explain it .

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for just under $4CDN. Canned January 18, 2023. A Passionfruit IPA.

Appearance - Reasonably hazy golden brew with orang-ish highlights. A finger plus of white head and plenty of streaky lacing left behind. Carbonation seems middling.

Smell - Sort of dank, with plenty of citrus. Passionfruit figures in there, but grapefruit and papaya make an appearance.

Taste - Semi sweet, some passionfruit, a little bit of sourness and other citrus. Strong crackery component up front as well. Bitterness is relatively low until the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied, semi dry to close and a decent enough amount of carbonation.

Overall - Decent enough IPA, Crowd Surf Motel just seems to be missing something distinctive as the passionfruit doesn't standout as much for me and the crackery qualities are on the high end as far as IPA's go. A good enough beer, but compared to some of the other stars in their IPA lineup, this is one of their weaker entries.
