Orange Golden, with little carbonation in for fingers of whitehead. Smells a Belgian phenyls, orange, and lime, the taste smell of the nose but it’s not very pronounced. White sticky body with very little carbonation. I got this in Stratford Ontario and I’m drinking it here on July 23, 2023..

A-Clear golden yellow with a white head that remains strong after a while
S-Malt forward aroma with elements of herbal dankness and juicy fruit gum
M-Medium body with lower end carbonation and a juicy yet dry mouthfeel
T-Sweet upfront with a vanilla, cotton candy and citrus gummy flavour that ends with a smooth bitterness
O-I was afraid there would be a host of artificial flavours because the can said ‘whipped frosting DIPA’…but there was none of that. Very nice brew

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 26 2023 and served barely chilled.

Pours clear golden yellow with some visible sediment hovering throughout the liquid; it's topped with one finger of tight, foamy white head that falls back within three or four minutes' time. A wavy curtain of lace clings to the glass, above a creamy collar and smooth, filmy cap - looks fine so far. The aroma is subdued, offering up hints of clean, grainy wheat, lemon peel, tropical fruit, grapefruit, grassy herbs and icing sugar sweetness.

A sweet citrus-forward IPA - an odd combo, but I found it interesting: there's a mild to moderate background sweetness from the lactose, with notes of lemon juice, lemon curd, grapefruit and lime. Hints of grassy, floral hop bitterness crop up towards the finish, with lemon curd and subtle vanilla fading into a citrusy, slightly boozy aftertaste. Full in body, with gentle carbonation that rolls across the palate, adding some agitation this brew's otherwise smooth mouthfeel. Good drinkability for a DIPA.

Final Grade: 3.78, a B+. Frosty the Friendship Dragon is not one of the Flying Monkeys' best efforts in the field of DIPAs, but I will always respect them for constantly trying new, weird things - even if they don't always blow my socks off. The vanilla doesn't add much, but the lemon puree and lactose combine to give off a pleasant 'citrusy dessert' vibe that I rather liked. Worth trying at least once.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario Canada 473ml at 8.3%.
Poured into glass with a 1 to 2 finger head.
Creamy and smooth delicious IPA beer strong yes but the alcohol is almost hidden. Candy Cane frosted fruit flavours
Very enjoyable to drink would definitely buy this again.
Cheers

473 ml can served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for around $4.25 CDN. Canned February 16, 2023. Awesome can art as usual.

Appearance - Hazy golden color with a finger plus of frothy off white head. Pretty good retention and not much lacing.

Smell - Unusual combo. Some citrus with grapefruit, a sweet and sugary icing background and maybe some candied mango in between.

Taste - Semi bitter but then that sugary sweet icing kick pops in. Candied citrus fruits maybe but then turns a bit bitter to close. Hard to describe and not the most flavor intense, but not unpleasant. Booze level is low.

Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied with middling carbonation. Finish leans juicy with prickly carbonation.

Overall - An interesting DIPA that has the idea of candied citrus fruits, the frosting sugar flavors are just a bit too much for me and with them in play there isn't a depth of other flavors there. Worthwhile, but unlikely to blow you away.
