At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from my favourite Walmart on Tecumseh Rd. East in nearby Windsor. My 12th beer from the Barrie, ON brewery.

473 mL can purchased at Walmart; dated Dec 20 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours effervescent orange-amber, with nearly an inch of rocky, foamy white head gathered atop. It lasts for the better part of five minutes, caking the glass with a thick coat of lace as it drops down to a wide, soapy collar and sudsy cap. It smells of lemon zest and bready malts, with hints of floral, herbal, earthy noble hops and lightly caramelized sugars. It's the noble hop & lemon combo that sell this for me.
It's a quality amber lager, and quite flavourful for only 4.3%. It starts with toasted grains, bready malts and light caramel sweetness, joined early on by floral hops and lemon zest. The noble hops impart more of an earthy, herbal note on the back end; moderately bitter, with some metallicity dissipating into a bittersweet aftertaste. Light in body, with aggressive carbonation that prickles the palate continuously throughout each sip, resulting in a crisp, surprisingly refreshing feel. I could easily drink a couple of these in a row.
Final Grade: 3.9, a B+. Raving Loops of Computer Music impressed me more than I was expecting it to - not that I don't trust Flying Monkeys to make great beer, it's just that I've never really been an amber lager fan. I do, however, consider myself a big fan of German lagers & pilsners, and this is hitting a lot of the same notes: obviously there's some toasted malt/caramel flavours added in here, but the noble hops genuinely remind me of an imported pils. Recommended as a worthwhile selection for lager lovers.
