Animated, twitchy hops pogo through our plan for juicy refreshment creating an awful lot of mischief in such a light li’l hazy. Sneaky sparks of tangerine, pineapple candy, and tropical fruit burst with inklings of resin in the pale radium glow of this mostly harmless refresher.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From Allen's Supermarket here in McGregor, Ontario. Canned October 4/24. My 22nd beer from the Barrie, Ontario brewery, and 10th for 2025. Ridiculously required by Sundae the cat...

My college buddy brought a couple tall boy cans of this beer to share at a House Party for the OSU vs ORE game.....which OSU lost by a point. It poured a hazy golden with white head that left some lace. The scent and taste had bitter citrus fruit and pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was light in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer!

473 mL can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours amber with golden highlights and has a haze to it. It is topped with a mountain of creamy, tan head. It rises above the rim of the glass like a slow pour. It leaves rocky lacing.
It has a minerally earthy smell along with some resin.
Resiny flavor with some bitterness. Dry
Lighter bodied with a dry mouthfeel
It's alright.

473 mL can from Superstore; dated May 30 2024 and served barely chilled.
Pours a cloudy golden hue, generating two fingers of puffy, foamy white head that lasts for three or four minutes; a generous collar of creamy suds lives on, paired with a half-inch curtain of lace. The aroma is inviting, offering up a myriad of fruity hop notes of varying intensity - I'm getting peach, honeydew melon, orange and pear, with suggestions of coconut, watermelon and pineapple.
It's very flavourful for only 4.2%. Orange, pineapple and honeydew come through initially, joined by notes of peach and coconut by mid-sip. Finishes with hints of grapefruit pith building up to a moderately dank, resiny bitterness that dissipates into the aftertaste, alongside touches of coconut and banana. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that lends a spritzy feel to this brew's smooth mouthfeel. Great drinkability - I could have a few of these in a row and I don't think I'd complain.
Final Grade: 3.83, a B+. Li'l Heathens is a solid session IPA that I'd rank ahead of much of its Ontario-based competition. That's not to suggest that's it's a mind-blowing, must-try beer or anything like that - above average for a session IPA, sure, but not necessarily one of the Monkeys' strongest releases. For instance, I would much rather be drinking their Juicy Ass, but if you're looking for a light IPA that doesn't skimp out on the flavour then you could do much, MUCH worse than this.
