473 mL can from the LCBO, included in their Wonder Box mixed pack. Dated Apr 24 2025 and served barely chilled.

Pours a foggy golden-blonde colour, with nearly three fingers of foamy, billowing, sparkling white head erupting from the surface. It lasts for more than five minutes, eventually reduced to a lumpy cap that is contiguous with a wide, frothy collar; fantastic lace deposition, too. Looks amazing, but that much head can be a sign of over-carbonation. Fruity-sweet, tropical aromas that suit the theme: pineapple, cherry juice, guava and mandarin orange all come to mind.

The flavours are along the same lines, comprised mainly of fruity, sweet tropical punch notes. Pineapple is the big one, but I'm also getting hints of guava, orange, maraschino cherry and passion fruit, as well as pink grapefruit bitterness later on. Hints of pineapple, grapefruit pith and guava fade into a weakly resiny aftertaste. Medium-light in body, with aggressive carbonation that froths up on the tongue, reducing drinkability for much of the session. I didn't have much trouble finishing this glass, but it's a little bloaty.

Final Grade: 3.57, a B grade. You win some, you lose some - that's just life, and even though the Flying Monkeys have plenty of experience brewing creative, unique and occasionally excellent IPAs, they do slip up once in a while and produce something like Gusher. In all fairness, the idea of a "fruit punch IPA" has never been all that appealing to me, though I believe this brew does do a passable job of rising to meet the expectations of its gimmick. The ridiculous carbonation, however, is a continuous annoyance that drags down the overall experience: it's likely the weakest of the three beers in this mixed pack.

473 mL can
Served in a pokal glass

This beer pours straw colored with a slight haze to it. It is topped with a mountain of beige head that leaves nice lacing.

It has that smell of a gas station, stovepipe can full of big booze and fruit.

Soapy fruit punch flavor with some clashing bitterness.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

The fruit punch and bitterness of the hops clash for my palate.
