On tap at local restaurant. Definitely coffee forward and after too. My spouse loves it while I was mildly enthusiastic Good example of the type and I would drink again

Poured into a Nonic.
Pours big, dark and opaque, but not viscous. A huge three to four-fingered root-beer-float honey-combed head that retains very well before slowly giving way to excellent lacing.
Aromas of bitter chocolate and coffee initially, with sweeter chocolate notes in the background, i.e. brownie/cake batter. A little dry astringent roasted character too.
Initially sweet on the tip of the tongue, but the coffee flavor is more prominent on the palate than on the nose. It isn't terribly bitter--more of a medium roast. The chocolate isn't present here as it was on the nose. Charred and astringent on the finish. Simple but well-balanced. The booze is well hidden.
Medium-full bodied. Drying at the finish, despite some residual sweetness.
A really nice coffee-forward stout that stays on the "export" side of the imperial/export line with a lean body and a drying booze-free finish.

12oz can with a date of 10/18/21 on the bottom of the can. I always thought of Dead Irish Poet as a dry Irish Stout and not an Export Stout. Just does not have that heavy roasted malt character that I associate with Exports. This beer is no different. Light in the roast with a coffee addition. Notes of bitter dark chocolate. I like the type of coffee used. I would guess it is the medium roast Caribou Blend. Nice drinking coffee forward beer.
