Once again. A review of a beer I was involved in making. Take with a grain of salt.
No Sleep 'Til Brookland brewed to 9%. Dry-hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin.
Appearance: Deep, hazy orange. Decent head retention. Lots of lacing.
Nose: Hop aromatics offer clues to how fresh this beer is (very). Still a touch green, but very intense. Notes of citrus, lots of pine and resin, some dankness, hints of tropical fruit and berry.
Taste: Intensely hoppy. A significant pale, sweet malt backbone balances things, but the hops still dominate. Very spicy, resiny, and green bitterness. Lots of citrus zest and juice. Tangerine comes to mind. Finish is long and starts juicy but dries out significantly. The flavor on this reminds me quite a bit of Evil Twin Molotov Lite.
Feel: Could maybe use a touch more carb, but not far off. Lingers on the palate ever so slightly. Bitterness is firm to high, but not out of place. Finish is long and starts juicy/slightly sweet/resiny but dries out with lingering spice and pine.
Overall: Very good. Leans a bit toward old-school Double IPA flavors minus the lack of caramel malt. Look forward to tweaking slightly.
