From the brewer, "Maple Porter- Our seasonal for the fall, this ale is brewed with Crystal malt, pale chocolate malt, and a hint of real maple syrup. 6% A.B.V"

This beer is dark brown, tiny thin brown head, no maple in the aroma, lots of roast.

This beer has a thick (too thick) of mouthfeel for a porter. It feels like a stout. Again I am losing the maple in the flavors of all the roasted barley. There is a mild roasty aftertaste that seems to be getting worse the more I drink. Drinkability suffers, its off style for mouthfeel, and I can't locate the namesake of this beer.

A - A dark auburn brew with a one finger head and a moderate amount of lacing. The lacing did not remain through the bottom of the glass though.

S - A touch of maple, coffee and molasses. The odor, though not unpleasant was lacking in potency.

T - The foretaste is mostly a bit of light maple sweetness. Very mild. The aftertaste is a charred bitterness with a bit of a molasses flavor. The maple sweetness is still lingering there.

M - Thin and harsh from carbonation, but pretty refreshing.

D - I was pretty impressed by this brew, it is a very mild drinkable porter. I think the beer was too weak in smell and taste, but the if these were much stronger it might have been less drinkable. I was impressed with Franklin's as a whole will definitely have to sample all of their brews.
