On tap at GI brew house restaurant. Since the barrel had been brewed on site and started three weeks ago, the bartender was surprised there had been ratings in 2015. Our guess is those were of a similar recipe, also a saison experiment.
Average Looks at best. Smells give me malt and probably the ginger, but oddly separate. Tastes have the ginger emerge more, but either more ginger or hops are needed to make this distinctive. To me, the tea is hard to find. Finishes fine enough.
Paired OK with a flatbread. So, let's call it a successful saison... just not better than good.
Overall, decent but probably would not have again. Good to see GI trying new brews... all over again.
