on tap at Minneapolis Town Hall -- reviewed from short notes
Muddy brown. Looks black head on, but brownish, almost dark red, in the edges. Weak head, weak retention, and weak lacing.
Smells rich and roasty. Some chocolate malt stands out, as well as big cherry notes.
The taste is much the same, but the roasty malt gives way to huge dark/sweet cherry notes on the finish.
Body is thick and creamy feeling.
This is not bad.... A pretty nice version of a fruited stout.

Pouts black in color without much of a head on it. Smells is brown sugar covered cherries with some bread and chocolate malts. Taste starts off with sweet cherries and brown sugar. The cherry keeps powering its way through the middle. This is tasting like a cherry pie in every way imaganable. On the back I get some dry Chocolates mixed in with some more cherry flavors. Man, this was one of the better cherry stouts I have had. This is more cherry than stout so I added it as a fruit beer, not a stout, despite it's name. I liked it so much I skipped on anything else the rest of the night.
