Logger Lager is pale, crisp, dry and refreshing on a hot summer day. Named after the Canadian woodsmen who forged a country out of the wilderness, this “logger/lager” can handle the deepest thirst.

Poured on-tap at a TGIFriday's in Niagara Falls and served in a shaker pint. The beer is a bright, straw gold coloring with a frothy, foamy, white head. Nose of toasted grain and hints of maple sweetness. Flavors are tangy sweet, with a roasted grain backbone. Muddled and slightly cloying. Light and watery feel in mouth. Tangy sweet and toasted aftertaste, with w slick, watery finish. Not a fan.

Pours a lightly hazy deep yellow with a white head. In the aroma, A small sweetness than nothing. In the taste, a small dry to sweet maltiness, and quite bold for a lager. A small bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry standard lager aftertaste. Lacks aroma, but quite bold in the flavor.

341ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear golden yellow with one finger of bubbly white foam and sheets of lacing on the lager glass. Smell and taste are sweet, fresh, and doughy grains, bready biscuit, a bit toasty, yeast, traces of creamed corn, clean and malty body, wheat, and a subtle hop spiciness to end. Faintly grassy, apple-like notes linger in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is crisp, medium, refreshing, brief flash of bitterness, slightly dry finish. Very ale-like, and similar to the Blonde, which some people might resent. Not me though: I could drink this all day. Comparable to Cameron's Lager (another solid APL).

This will probably be another unique Canadian style lager made by a micro brewer that is glossed over...so be it...I liked it. Its uniqueness comes from following the real Canadian lager style the commercial brewers lost 78years ago.

The deep gold lager we see in the glass has a decent frothy white cap and a good lacing quality.

Aroma : cereals, some husk some sweetness and musty-leafy hopping.

Full bodied, rich, malty, from a 2 step mash, northern brewer hops balance perfectly, clean 2 dimensional but satisfying.

Brewer nailed the traditional pre-prohibition Canadian lager style on the nose. Don't get no more Canadian than this....that is if anyone notices or cares about a unique Canadian lager style.

14 IBU beer, sampled at the new brewpub in Niagara Falls , though this was around before in bottles. Medium golden yellow, lots of white foam, leaving lotsa white lace. Astringent taste with light mouthfeel. No aroma. More malt than hop taste, as expected for the style.
