Trigo is a 6.3 percent ABV “pale wheat lager” brewed with American hops that is a collaboration with Spain-based Mahou San Miguel. The art on the can was created by Founders culinary team member Cody Levon, “an incredible kitsch painter whose work emulates the beautiful methods of the old masters

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Golden colour, large white head. Aroma of fruity and grassy hops, hints of orange marmalade. Refreshing flavour, mid between dry and sweet, citric notes, moderate hops.

Look: It pours clear golden with a white head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: It has aromas of apricot with some doughy wheat. There are low levels of floral in the background.
Taste: It has flavors that are balance between the apricot and floral hops with the doughy wheat in support. The two sets of hops lightly clash with each other.
Feel: It has a medium body with the hops lasting long in the aftertaste.
Overall, the flavors are decent, but the hops clash a bit which each other.

Since I spent a couple/few days celebrating CANada Day on 01 July, it only seems right & fitting to spent this four-day weekend drinking, reviewing & rating AmeriCAN-owned & made beers. Cheers!
From the CAN: "Brewed For Us"; "Artprize"; "Hoppy Wheat Lager"; "Crack it. Pour it. Love it."; "Drink responsibly. They don't serve Founders in the clink."
From the Brewery's Website: "We’re strong believers that the only thing better than brewing beer is brewing beer with friends. We worked with our pals at Mahou San Miguel to bring the recipe for Trigo (Spanish for ‘wheat’) to life. They brought their lager-brewing expertise and we brought our hopping expertise. The result is a clean and crisp wheat lager with big, American-hopped aromatics. Salud!"; "IBUs: 35".
These guys clearly get it! It all begins with the Crack! of the vent & so it was in this insCANce. I was rather aggressive in my Glug since. as a wheat beer, it was most likely going to be cloudy. I watched as it roiled, fizzed & foamed to create a finger of fizzy, foamy, soapy, bone-white head that quickly disappeared. 8=( Color was a slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). The nose was interesting. It had a tropical & citrusy fruitiness, plus a slight tartness from the wheat. Hmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about on par for the style. The taste was another CANundrum - the style does not allow for more than a medium bitterness & yet the hops were what were prevalent. Hmm. I liked it in that it was not too tropical nor was it too citrusy, but at the same time, it was too … too. Finish was semi-dry and quite refreshing. I wish that the wheat (& other malts) had been a little more assertive, especially when reviewing to style. This was not one for purists, but if you are looking for a refreshing Summer beer, you CAN do MUCH worse! YMMV.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a weizen glass.
Pours a medium straw with a soapy cap that recedes to lace. Moderate chill cloud.
Aroma is bready malt, slightly sweet and with a wheat twang. Hops are apparent the aroma but not at the front. Smells like a wheat.
Flavor is sweet crystal malt with a big hop presence for the style. This is sweet rolls and banana bread with fruity resinous hop. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Little bit of fusel alcohol in the swallow. Interesting.
Mouthfeel is light and well carbonated. A bit slick on the tongue.
Good refreshing lager, nice easy drinking beer.
