Pours a golden honey / light Amber color. Aroma is tart with a a subtle sweetness and a sour wine presence. Flavor is really nice. Notes of Chardonnay, a tartness with a crisp finish. This drinks so ran and smooth and overall this is a really nice beer. So easy to drink.

On-tap at Mugs Ale House, Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellowish amber in color. It poured with a short off white head that died down and left a small patch of bubbles in the center and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Sweet aromas of white grapes are present in the nose along with some hints of vanilla.
T: The taste is slightly sour and has flavors of chardonnay barrels along with associated hints of vanilla from the oak.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer doesn't taste like a saison and lacks any spicy flavors of yeast but is nonetheless very interesting to drink.

Served from tap in to a Trappe Door tulip. Poured a golden yellow with a one finger white head. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, fruit, alcohol, sour apple, wood, and peaches. The flavor was of sweet malt, fruit, wood, spice, sour apple, chardonnay, and white wine. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. The chardonnay going on in this brew was definitely letting you know it meant business on the flavor. It seriously overwhelmed this one making it quite dry on the finish. This brew was very wine-esque. While that is definitely not a bad thing, it just didn't fit in with other brews of the style. Granted, if it would fit in to any category for a beer, it would be this one without a doubt.

From 04/09/14 notes. Had on tap at The Jeffrey in NYC. Menu said this one was aged in Chardonnay barrels with lacto for 2 full years...sounds promising. 12 oz. pour.

a - Pours a somewhat hazy golden brown color with high carbonation evident and one inch of white head.

s - Smells of a ton of lacto, vanilla, oak, spice, fruits, floral hops, earthy notes, and light white wine. Nice nose, lacto dominates though.

t - Tastes of lacto, more white wines, spices, oak, vanilla, pepper, floral hops, earthy notes, and light fruity malts.

m - Medium body and low carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.

o - Overall a decent saison. White wine comes through more in the taste, and the lacto really dominates it throughout. A good beer, though I liked the cherry berlinerweiss much more.
