L: Golden yellow. Moderate carbonation. Filtered clear, though tiny particles are suspended in the liquid. Malts were handled well, you can tell by the glossy sheen on top--Thirsty Dog has a good track record for that.
S: Sugary lemon, lemon peel, hops, and barley.
T: I can barely taste the beer, or the alcohol. It's plenty sweet, though the majority of the bitter notes come from the peel.
F: It's fizzy and lively. The grains were handled well and the lemon peel adds a touch of organic authenticity. But it's sticking to my palate and it's not supposed to. I suspect they used lemon concentrate vs. puree.
O: The difference is being concentrate vs. puree is being good vs. being great. Great Lakes Crush Worthy is a cut above based on the puree alone, although admittedly Thirsty Dog did a better job with the barley in theirs.
Overall, it's good, but it won't be internationally famous. Even if Thirsty Dog did use puree, they'd run into the same problem as Great Lakes, which is their water sources won't hold up to European standards.
