Brewed for GABS and I never liked musk lollies that much but why not and pours a hazed golden straw hue with a wispy one finger head that doesnt stay and bugger all lacing, the smell is musk as one would expect and it really does take me back to the lolly days as a kid and under that there is some herbeacous hops and funk, the feel is light bodied with moderate carbonation and the taste is musk on the forefront and it really does dominate but works at the same time with the herbal earthy hops, a touch of farmhouse funk and finished with a mix of lemon myrtle, musk and lavender and overall a very unique drop thats easy to drink cheers.

On tap at GABS Festival 2014.
Pours a pale gold-champagne kind of colour. Hugely sedimenty and cloudy, hardly any light showing through. White head, bit whispy but retaining quite well.
Smells a little saisony and funky, with horsey notes and a touch of dry lucerne. Touch of dry spice at the back. Decent but standard.
Taste is quite herbal with saisony notes upfront, giving horse blanket and barnyard and a slight earthiness. Midway is where it twists and turns, really quite impressively so to give a big whack of musk candy that is sweet and artificial and yet works astonishingly well with that earthy, natural, spontaneous and untamed saison character. What a genuinely unusual beer, but a very enjoyable one.
An impressive twist on an otherwise standard saison. I enjoyed this quite a lot on first try and more and more as I retried over the festival. This was a top ten beer of the festival for me.

A musk saison brewed for GABS 2014 in Melbourne, which is where I sampled it on tap.
Pours a pale straw colour, very solidly hazed with a pretty light body. Head forms a very fine, firm ring of white that leaves a little patchy lace. Looks decent enough.
Very herbal and spicy on the nose with a definitely pronounced musk character coming through pretty strongly. Alongside this are complexities of crushed rosemary and a little Vietnamese pepper. Very nice.
Definite musk on the palate, light and fragrant and sweet-spicy. Clean and light through the centre with the saison character giving a light dry back. Lingering fragrance of musk mingles with a residual sweetness that evanesces on the finish—the beer still feels quite light towards the back but the aromatics keep it tasty.
I was quite surprised with this beer overall. The musk and herbal aromatics work really quite well with the saison character. It's certainly an unusual beer, but one that I really took to.
