BREWED FOR CHAMPAGNE STYLE ON A BEER BUDGET

Festive and crisp, Liquid Stardust sparkles like few, if any, IPAs. Far-out waves of hop flavor and aromatics pack a celebratory punch, while the clean, champagne-like finish begs for another sip.

Light haze, brilliant golden hue, small ivory head atop.

In the nose: Bright, vibrant happiness, notes of citrus fruit, tangerine, lemon.

In the mouth: Sparkling! Fresh, zesty, lively. Bursting with hops, then quickly turning dry. Flush with tropical fruit flavors, pineapple, guava, et al. Light bodied, easy drinking. I like this quite a bit.

This is a delightfully refreshing Brut IPA, and I can easily envision granting it space in the fridge. Taking a couple down for a few sessions.

12oz, canned 10/10/19. Slightly hazy golden-yellow body with a frothy white head that leaves some chunky lacing on the glass. Aroma is muld malt and tropical fruit. Lighter flavors yet still hop forward with passion fruit, mango, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine; very modest light caramel and honey malt presence. Medium body, quite effervescent, moderate bitterness on the very dry finish. Good flavors for a style I am still trying to get used to.

Liquid Stardust pours a golden color, with a small lacing, and long lasting head. Dry aroma, hints of grain. Flavor is dry, with a nice juicy hop flavor, and a hint of citrus. Good body and feel. Overall, nice dry flavors, noticeable juicy hop flavors, easy to drink.

Picked up a mixed 12er, which might be the first time, since we needed some “just beers” for a party we were going to. This was one. 12 oz. can.

The pour looks suspiciously like the old Blue Moon circa 1998, a pale, slightly hazed yellow, with floaties. Smells like teen spirit blended with citrus, dust, & lemon. Huh.

Liquid Stardust is Leine’s Lemon Summer Shandy meets Bold New IPA Style. Lemon has the upper hand here, with sub-ledgers of citrus, light bitterness, liquefied sunshine, & a profile that’s as dry as dehydration. The ease with which it goes down is its strength, though at 7% that might not be true tomorrow.

Delighted to see Surly branching out, finally. Not sure what I think of this new IPA ‘style’, but this is a good, solid brew.

Pours a burnt yellow with a quickly dissipating head. Smells of lemon with a yeasty character, very bright. Taste is bright citrus, somewhat one note. Medium bodied and effervescent, very dry finish. Very refreshing, not too complex but nice for what it's trying to accomplish.

12oz can with a date on the bottom

Smells like booze, tastes like La Croix mixed with an airplane bottle of rotgut vodka. The good part is the hops. The downside is that there's barely any. I don't know where the champagne like aftertaste comes from, but I do know that it sucks. It 'feel's like this beer was a waste of money.

Liquid Stardust is beyond bust

Light in color, much more hazy than the other Brut’s I’ve had. Small, effervescent bubbles. Surprisingly some sediment. Smells of mango, tropical fruit.

Taste is thin, light, tropical. Crisp, dry, light finish. Very drinkable for 7%. Due to the lightness in flavor and body, you could drink a lot of these.

I enjoyed it well enough, but it’s more of a light bodied NEIPA with a slightly dryer finish.

CAN from a mixed 12 pack:

12/28/18 impressions from another can:

Refreshing if a bit dry and dragging. Hop flavours are really faint. Overattenuated, depleting the beer of soul.

I get some nice lemongrass notes, faint floral hop flavours, and wisps of 2-row that present as cereal grains given the beer's overattenuation.

A swing and a miss from Surly. What happened to showcasing hops?

Poured from 12-ounce can into a proper tulip. Huge burst of pine resin and citrus upon popping the tab. Slightly cloudy darkish yellow in color, with a decent white head that rapidly settles without a trace. The aroma never quits. Grapefruit, Meyer lemon, orange, tropical druit, citrus zest, and pine dominate the nose and palate. Great carbonation, light in body, and a dry finish as promised with a hint of citrus lingering on the palate as it warms. Very refreshing and easy drinking, with the alcohol nearly undetectable. Well done, Surly!

12oz can, comp media sample from the brewery.

Pours out a pale yellowish straw hue with a touch of haze, very bubbly that hold the head together for a while. Crispness has a pop, citrusy and peppery hop profile. Bitterness is there but not the least bit overwhelming. Kiss of alcohol with a dry finish. Well rounded and balanced but it clearly tell me its an IPA.
