Since I don’t know this style, not entirely sure how to rate, but...I do love rye, and this beer does it some nice justice. At the beer hall, into a tulip, pours a dense and hazy pineapple gold, aspirin white foamy head with decent retention and average lacing. Nose is a lot of good yeasty notes, and some sweetbread. On the tongue, you get more spicy rye, though it is a mild spiciness, with the yeast almost fruity at the front then midway through switching over to a little sweet and warm spicy liveliness. Medium mouthful. A tad bit watery at the end, though, which seems not quite right.
