On-tap at Standard Bar & Grill. Slightly hazy golden color with no head to speak of. Pepper and fruitiness on the nose. Peppery crackers, tart fuitiness, and mild spicy hop flavor. One of the more intensely flavorful American lagers out there, but unsure if the flavors are a little too intense for the style. Medium light feel

Pours a gold copper with a hint of fog to the translucency. Head is two fingers of fluffy white foam. Aroma is biscuity, bready, wafery, and crackery malts with a sliver of spicy, zesty hops. It has a touch of cardboard at the back, but is otherwise a dry malt bomb that leans into wafers and biscuits. Flavor profile is biscuits, wafers, crackers, and bread with a touch of earthy malts. Flavor profile carries a little more sweetness, subtly drying out right at the end. Spicy, zesty, and herbal hops add some balance. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is slightly crisp with a mild pillowy softness that disrupts the refreshness level. Overall, mild lager with some fair attributes. Easy to drink, but not as fun to self reflect while drinking as other examples.

Before I Die pours a nice golded color, with a small, lacing head. THe aroma is sweet, with a slight chemically note. The flavor is pretty sweet, but very clean and crisp, bright corn like flavors. Good feel. Overall, a nice, but pretty sweet lager.

Tallboy can at US Bank Stadium. Vikes-Buccs game, 09/11/2023
Pours a pretty clear "piss water" yellow, with bits of lace. Aroma of grain and malt, and primarily tastes of hops.
A top tier choice. Too bad the Vikings suck

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from the Woodman's in Onalaska, Wisconsin. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had grain and finishing hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink crisp malt base with grain and finishing hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

It's a lager you can share with your father in law. Better than big company's lagers.

Pours a clear bright yellow with a thick white head that falls away quickly without leaving any lacing. Aroma is light, biscuit, malt, and lemony hops. Flavor follows the nose, a bit sweet up front, slight hop bitterness in the finish. Feel is light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, this is a nice American style lager. Kudos to Surly, they used to over hop beer regardless of style.

16 oz can with expiration date 10/09/23 into a tall Lager glass.
L: Pours clear bright corn yellow with a thin 1/4" eggshell white head that recedes to thick edge foam, steady large carbo bubbles, medium skeletal lacing.
S: Cereal grains, sweet malts, pastry dough, gently floral.
T: Sweet malts, light hops, cereal grains, a hint of corn, light wildflower, bready notes like pizza crust esp in the finish, Pilsner malts, distant pear.
F: Crisp, clean light body with a fast and clean moderately dry finish.
O: This lovely beer is essentially a Helles and is rather Germanic. Very little aftertaste, clean, crisp and quite crushable. Exceptional taste, brilliant feel and great looking as well. I'll buy this again. Good price, excellent beer in its style.

Bright clear golden color with a substantial foamy white head that lasts.
The aroma is light malt, hints of floral hops.
The taste is also light barley malt, slightly sweet, a touch of lemon and a drier finish with light floral and grassy hops, nicely balanced.
The body is light/medium, good carbonation, smooth, very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a nicely balanced, tasty and refreshing brew, a very nice summer cooler but tasty enouh to be a good companion for most food, really good with barbecue.

Nice lager here...would border on being a Helles in my book. A sweetish pilsner malt impression balanced with touch of herbal/lemony hops...clean...light side of medium bodied....drinks easy....good flavor....enjoyable...would like to try it sid by side with Surly Hell sometime...been a longtime since I had Surly Hell. Going to rate as a Helles Lager..

A tasty American lager from Surly. It's light, crisp, and has a nice balance of malts and hops. Easy drinking hot weather crusher here. Lawnmower beer, as they say. Good representation of the style.

This is a great summer beer if you're looking for something light and crisp.
It's pretty thin, not much maltiness, strong lemon peel finish.
I rate based on the quality of the style. It's quite drinkable and refreshing.
