16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of bourbon, oak, vanilla, roasted malt and molasses. Sweet bourbon, chocolate and molasses with vanilla, oak and charred notes.

This is the 10 year heavy char barrel aged.

On tap. Not much head. Black color, caramel hue.

Massive barrel flavor. The charred barrels really show in a complex way. Cuts a bit of the darkness sweetness. Fudge, cake, vanilla up front. Roast, char, bourbon to follow. Oaky. Raisins, black cherry, figs, molasses. Chocolate and cocoa with caramel. Warming finish.

This is excellent. Reminds me of the 2015 ba darkness. Definitely unique with the charred flavor.

Poured on tap at Darkness Day into snifter.
A: Pours an extremely dark black with essentially no head.
S: Sweet bourbon, dark chocolate, molasses, vanilla, and some oak char.
T: Dark chocolate, wood char, sweet bourbon, vanilla, molasses, leather, and a dry and bitter hop bite.
M: Medium heavy body. Layers of dark sweetness with layers of bitterness in the background. Lovely balance and a softening of feel with the barrel aging.
D: An extremely well done barrel aged brew. Base beer is tremendous and barrel aging helps accentuate the darker elements (and hides the hops a bit, which is a half step back). End result is excellent.
