750ml capped bottle served in a little hotel glass (at least it's glass, for gosh sake). If there's a date, I either can't see it or can't read it. Bought it about 30 minutes ago at Mizonokuchi Brewery.

Pours a clear dark yellow with a huge head (like 75% at first pour). Retention is impressive, takes several minutes to start settling down. Plenty of carbonation. Smell is powerful and traditional saison -- grass, lemon, spicy, earthy funk. Smell actually reminds me a lot of Saison Dupont.

Taste is right along the same lines, with a floral sweetness running through it.

Mouthfeel is dry and lively. Overall, this is really nice. Maybe a bit more sweetness than needed, but not an inappropriate level. I like it.

Made with saki rice. Thanks for sharing!

Appears slightly hazy yellow orange. Big white head with good retention. The aroma is rustic and earthy with some mushroom and a touch of mineral. Hay, rice, leather, and a little barnyard are apparent. The flavor is of earth, mineral, hay, and rice. There's a little apricot and peach. Lower medium in body with high carbonation. I was pleasantly surprised by this Japanese Saison.
