Collaboration with Amager Bryghus - Bottled at Amager Bryghus
Imperial Oatmeal Stout brewed with coffee - This unique blend of two of Denmark's best Imperial Stouts. We have brewed Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel & Amager Bryghus Mr. Frederiksen separately and then blended the two brews. This has provided a very balanced, harmonious and full-bodied beer. After maturing, the beer is stored in our cold cellar for almost a year.

Poured out deep brown almost midnight with slight ring around the Rosie of thin delicate lace head cream and khaki. I am not a fan of blended beers but I’ll try it. What the hell. Why would anyone want to blend beers. Whatever. I guess mikkeller and amager wanted to get together and have a child. All I’m getting in scent is strong raisin and date and fig. Wouldn’t you know. Taste is equivalent to smell. Yet it is sweet and sugary maybe a little cherry and on the tail end of the swig I feel a warmth of alcohol washing over my mouth. Bubbles galore. Little tiny ones. And a thin to medium mouthfeel. Overall it’s not a bad brew but I can’t taste the coffee supposedly in this thing. Not disappointing but not fantastic. I’ll drink it on a Friday night for the hell of it.

Look: Pours very dark brown and translucent from the bottle. Opaque and void of color in the glass. Light brown, densely packed head that settles, leaving a curtain of lace in its wake. A lot of lacing as I drink the beer. No visible carbonation.
Smell: Sweet and creamy coffee. Toasted, nearly burnt, bread. Some fruity coffee notes. Pear. A nice mix of sweet milk chocolate and bitter dark chocolate. Some spicy spice as it warms up. Cinnamon.
Taste: On the tip of the tongue I get some fruity sweetness. This has got to be the coffee. Pear, strawberry and watermelon. Distinctive coffee flavor. Some mild black coffee. Mid palate it dries out and bitters some. Roasty, toasty, and borderline smokey. Bitterness grows on the finish.
Feel: Medium bodied. Smooth and sweet up front, finishing more dry with a faint hint of oily, lemon pith bitterness.
Overall: The more I think about the fruity notes and the more bitter it gets I realize this beer is loaded with hops. My first impression of the fruit was coffee. But now I think it’s the hops. Perhaps some combination of the two. Either way, one of the more unique coffee beers I’ve had. A hopped up coffee beer. Quite complex, unique and interesting, in a good way.

From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This beast pouts a rugged blackish brown with
thin cola highlights and a thin ring of off white foam and a light dusty layer with
subtle lacing. Nose of dark coffee, dark roasted malts, char, and subtle anise.
Flavors expand on the nose with typical Mikkeller style. Dark coffee, dark cocoa,
mellow oatmeal, char, anise, dark fruit notes of blackberry and faint cherry, and
touches of vanilla and cream. Nice mouth feel; full body, smooth, moderately
coating, lightly slick, light carbonation, and a rich velvety roasted finish.
Overall decadence.
Cheers

Served in a red wine glass from the bottle.
Appearance: Semi thick brown black body with a slightly dark tan head rising almost quarter of a finger's length. Even perfect lacing settling before the first sip.
Smell: Whiskey and mocha scent.
Taste: Sweet butterscotch and smooth Mill chocolate with a dose of whiskey and milder espresso. Very nice dessert finish with a punch if liquors.
Mouth: semi sticky and gets better as it warms. Full body sweet finish with a medium carbonation.
Overall: Good brew but definitely over priced here in the states. Would I grab it again, more than likely because I quite frankly don't give a eff. Always in a glass, Salud!

Syrupy and black with just a slight greyish tan head. Strong coffee and bourbon notes. Good balance of sweet and tannic with a dominant roasted maltiness.
