Spontandryhop Mosaic

The color is amber with a green tinge, somewhat hard to describe. Immediately, intense fresh citrus aromas waft out of the bottle, even before pouring. Lime candy and the typical sour funk on the nose. The first taste is tart and full of melon. This is a wonderfully complex and fully rounded sour, among the best I've tasted.

 

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 7th March 2022. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass.

Appearance: A clear golden orange colour with a two finger white head that had pretty good retention and left some lacing.

Aroma: Tart, sour, passionfruit, unripe mango, berries, grapefruit zest, grape, grass, funk and oak.

Taste: Tart, sour, passionfruit, berries, lemon juice, citrus zest, grass and lightly funky and herbal.

Mouthfeel: Acidic, slightly astringent, medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: The Mosaic hop flavours come through nicely and was enjoyable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sampled at THT June tasting. Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Smells hoppy, lightly funky and bitterness. Sour notes of vinegar, bitter green hops and some barnyard funk. Dry and refreshing.

 

A: Poured into a tulip to a hazy golden orange with almost no head creation. What is there is dense and white but it's pretty much just a collar around the edge of the glass. pretty much no lacing on this one
S: Smells of sourness and funk with some really nice hop notes from the mosaic. There's a little citrus and tropical fruit with some light pine
T: Taste is some nice and bright sourness with some funk. There's some dry hop flavor going on as well with citrus and tropical fruits Swallow is citrus and tropical fruit with a bit of pine. Toward the very end there's a little bready malt
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium with slightly prickly carbonation and a slightly drying finish due to the competition between the hop oils and the acidity.
O: This is a really nice dry hopped sour. I really enjoy how the hops and sourness riff off of each other to keep things interesting. Great complexity and enjoyable flavors.

 

 

Aroma is tropical fruit/slight kiwi, Mosaic hops and lambic/funk. The flavor is tropical fruit, Mosaic hops, sugar/medium sweetness, malts and a funky/earthy finish.
