Copenhagen 22/11 2020. 37,5 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Mocha coffee pot arguing with a coffee mug on label.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a big, beige head. Stable. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is intense with a light sweet odor mingling with a prominent bitter coffee odor. Brown sugar, molasses. Lactose. Espresso coffee. Leather and tobacco.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, creamy yet lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong, coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering. Finish is dry.
Convincing Coffee Stout with enough coffee to keep me awake on a drowsy Sunday.

Initially thought this was bottled on 7/3/19, but looking through other reviews this seems to be the "best by" date. With that in mind. Poured from a 330mL bottle into my Portsmouth tulip.
Opaque seal brown liquid topped by nearly two fingers of dense desert sand foam.
Roast barley, raw cocoa, and faint cheap tobacco in the nose. Coffee is prominent and fairly smooth.
Bittersweet palate entry suggests coffee spilled on sourdough french toast. Light noble hops and a hint of roast grain emerge as the ale warms. Distinctive belgian yeast adds a touch of fruit and tartness if not funk. Slightly tannic finish like over-infused ceylon tea, although mellow overall.
Medium-bodied, milky, and fully carbonated.
Not bad, but a bit of a stylistic oddity as it is more of a "Belgian Stout" with some average coffee thrown in rather than a proper breakfast stout.

This is not a full bodied and full flavored stout, but more of a medium coffee flavored stout that's quite sweet. There is not too much coffee flavor, which I don't mind. I don't like it when the coffee is overpowering.
Look: black with an inch thick mocca colored head
Aroma: roasted malts, sweet coffee, chocolate
Taste: Roasted malts, coffee, a bit sweet, some dark chocolate. It leaves a good coffee with sugar like after taste.
Body/Overall: medium body

11.2oz bottle, best by 07/03/19. A thick and frothy light brown head leaves some chunky lacing on the glass as it slowly fadea atop a black stout. Bold aroma of espresso, dark chocolate, and roast. Bold in flavor as well: dark chocolate, espresso, roasted barley, lactose, char, earthy hops, nutty grain, and a hint of anise. Very creamy, smooth, and thick; balanced with dark cocoa and roast lingering on the finish. Solid kaffestout here. Glad to try it!

L: Pours dark brown and settles jet black in the glass. Formed a bubbly tan colored cap which dissipated quickly. Really appealing amounts of lacing left on the edge of the glass.
S: A lot of chocolate and coffee on the nose. Small amounts of vanilla and lactose sweetness.
T: Coffee upfront with natural raw chocolate and roasted malt flavor on the finish. Aftertaste of lactose and dates sweetness with slight bitterness. Resembles that of a latte.
F: Despite having high amounts of carbonation, the beer is relatively full bodied and has a nice consistency. Not quite syrupy/oil level, but just has a nice feel. I do feel the carbonation is a tad too high, but not a deal breaker.
O: Very enjoyable. As it warms, the flavor profile does resemble a latte. I am glad to have tried it. Cheers all!

no barrels no wild yeast no fruit just a good old classic coffee stout, and on that note, one of the very best i have ever had in that context, its near perfect for what it is, and would be easy to pick out of a crowd of its peers. the beer is matte black, moderately viscous, with a tall and lasting full inch of just off white head, bubbly and airy, but compact and sturdy too. the coffee in this beer is amazing, its bitter and its very darkly roasted, but it has almost no acidity at all, and it harmonizes beautifully with the dark grains in this, which are less bitter than the coffee, and contribute an earthy property i really like, burnt bready too. classic mikkeller ae yeast seems the right fit for this too, flavorful and drying, enhancing but not interfering, its right on. what i love about this beer is its simplicity, there is an appreciable absence of chocolate notes, a caramel malt middle, or any residual sugar at all, instead of hiding the edges of these ingredients (coffee and black barley malt), it chooses instead to showcase them, and i think thats really neat. super creamy and frothy feeling beer, good body, fine carbonation, pure smooth coffee, roasted bitter finish that doesnt linger long at all. astonishing beer from mikkeller, who sometimes impressed me as much with the simple stuff as they do with all the crazy experimental beers they make. this is exceptional.
